Larva of the tussock moth

In the midst of the dense green grass, a small caterpillar was crawling on a branch of a plant. The caterpillar was the larva of the tussock moth, or Ilema costalis in Latin. The caterpillar was so small, it was almost invisible. I almost missed it.

Despite its small size, this caterpillar was very brave. It kept pacing back and forth on the branch, even though my phone was very close to it. But it continued to move around casually, as if nothing was happening around it. One thing I liked about this caterpillar was that even though it was so busy pacing back and forth, it didn't hide or wander far away. It remained within reach of my phone's camera.

This caterpillar's colors were quite striking: black, white, and red. A beautiful and captivating combination. Its base color was black, adorned with white lines that looked like a fine weave. Four red dots on its back looked like small lanterns, illuminating its every move. Its entire body is also protected by long, soft fur.

At first glance, this caterpillar looks like it has antennae or horns. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that they aren't antennae or horns, but rather tassels. Quite interesting. For more details, let's take a look below👇

The white dot of color gave this caterpillar an attractive look.
That's a nice shot of it on the leaf stem
