With the help of macro photography, we can see the forms of many small and beautiful creatures in nature around us very closely. The beautiful spider that you see in these wonderful pictures is known to the common people or in English as the 'Two-striped jumper' or 'Two-striped Telamonia'. It is basically a great member of the jumping spider group.

Scientific name:
According to the scientific classification of biology, this beautiful spider has a specific scientific name. Its scientific name is Telamonia dimidiata. The scientist Simon was the first to name this species in 1899. It has several other synonyms in the scientific world, including Viciria dimidiata (Simon, 1899) and the name Phidippus pateli given by the scientist Tikader in 1974.

This spider is a wonderful member of the vast phylum Arthropoda and the class Arachnida of the animal kingdom. According to the classification made by scientists, they belong to the family Salticidae under the order Araneae, which is basically the largest family of jumping spiders. Their genus or genus name is Telamonia.

Size and Body Structure:
The females and males of this species of spiders look completely different and there is some difference in their size as well. Female spiders are 9 to 11 millimeters in length, while males are 8 to 9 millimeters in length. The spider that you see in the pictures you took is a female spider. The body of female spiders is light yellowish in color and their head part or cephalus is quite white. They have a beautiful red ring around their narrow black eyes. They have two bright red stripes running lengthwise on their abdomen, or opisthosoma, which is why they are so named. On the other hand, the males are very dark in color, have white spots on their bodies, and red hairs around their eyes.

Habitat and Habitat:
In terms of geographical distribution, these jumping spiders mainly live in various tropical rainforests of Asia. They usually prefer to stay under the foliage of forests or wooded environments. They are widely seen in countries like Singapore, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, India, and Bhutan.

Rumors and Harm: This beautiful spider does not have any harmful or harmful aspects for humans, because it cannot produce any significant poison or toxin for humans. However, surprisingly, an email rumor or hoax has been spreading on the Internet about this harmless spider since 1999. The rumor claimed that it is a deadly poisonous spider that hides under toilet seats in North Florida. It was originally created by modifying another old email rumor from 1999 called the "South American Blush Spider". Later, in 2012, 2018 and 2019, this false rumor spread widely on social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and WhatsApp. Many people used to think of it as a deadly spider spread in different countries of the world and advised to be careful, which is actually completely baseless and just an urban legend.
