Chrysocoris | Jewel Beetle

Hey nature observers! During the few days I was in Pidie Jaya Regency, I found many interesting insects. I usually take an afternoon walk around the countryside there, but before that, I have to make sure my phone's battery is full so that whenever I find something interesting I don't miss it.

Chrysocoris stollii, commonly called the green jewel beetle, is a kind of insect that I often encounter in the forests of North Aceh or in Lhokseumawe. But Chrysocoris iris, or the red jewel beetle as it is commonly called, is something else. I found this beetle in Pidie Jaya. On the Jatropha curcas plant, you can often find C. iris. Jatropha curcas is a kind of plant that is rich in sap, so I think it attracts beetles to suck up the sap.

Here are two species of Chrysocoris that I have captured and would like to share with you here.
