Ionel Dinu and Lori Gardi (aka Fractal Woman) present a very compelling aether model of electromagnetism from a purely mechanical fluid dynamics perspective. The model involves two unconventional chemical elements, that being "electrigen" (replacing the conventional "electron") and an "aether" fluid medium of negligible viscosity. The electrigen is modeled as a vibration in the aether liquid medium and when directed along a current carrying wire, creates a 3D surface wave. The surface wave causes aether circulation of neighboring "aether particles" which all move in gradually decreasing diameter circles. The expected alignment of iron filings and a compass needle is such that they line up with the "axle" or the aether circulation. And thus for the first time that I am aware of, a direct mechanical explanation of magnetism is presented that models reality very closely. Truly ground-breaking stuff!
