Great Experiments Showing Pressure and Temperature Dynamics of Boiling Water

This is a great video illustrating the various ways that water can be made to boil water without high heat, even using just your hands to boil water! This is a result of the inter-related pressure and temperature dynamics involved in liquid materials such as water. When the pressure is dropped, as in a vacuum chamber, then the material's specific boiling point temperature drops and can then boil the water with just the heat from your hands.

Water can also be boiled with ice-cold water by first heating water and then quickly enclosing the container so that the pressure is high due to the gaseous vapor, which also causes the boiling point to also increase. Then pouring ice cold water on the container causes the vapor to condense to a liquid thus lowering the boiling point of the water and thus can start boiling! This is some amazing science of water!
