This is a great video by The Action Lab YouTube channel showing that it is possible to cut glass underwater with scissors in much the same way as cutting paper! I had not known this was possible until now. When underwater, any crack in glass creates a void in which the water moves to fill. The interactions between the water and the cracked edges causes a reaction to greatly speed up the cracking all at the edge until the cracked pieces breakaway from the main uncracked glass. Compare with with the typical glass cracking in which one large crack usually forms through the whole body of the glass. This is some fascinating science!
