THE BASIS OF AUDIO VISUAL (AV)

Well as an Extra Low Voltage specialist and Installer, I have be able to deploy this service in various sites. My first experience in this was in the hospitality sector, which commonly make use of this service because of the presence of meeting rooms.
These meeting room are majorly designed for occasions, and for a meeting room to be fully passed by the governing body. There has to be an audio system, which is also called a public address system and visual too.

A public address system is structure designed to enhance public speaking. In this system you can find various devices which are interconnected.
These devices are amplifier, speakers, microphones, mixers and speaker cables.
In the professional world the above listed are referred to as active devices while the cables are referred to as passives.
During my installation the amplifier and the mixers where rack mounted in a twenty four(24) U rack, this was a bit difficult for me because I had not support when carrying out the installation at this time.

We ran all cables to the points according to the design layout, we faced some challenges some which are partially the client. The path way for these cables were not properly defined and up wasting both time and resources, which as a project manager it was not adding up. We got a head way when we reached out to the structural engineers who then came to our rescue. This support made laying of conduit and cables easy and we were able to hasten the installation.

After we were done with the cable laying which took use approximately two weeks we started termination of the active devices. The termination of the active devices really didn’t last that long which at this time we were still on schedule, after this we started updating the frame wares for the active equipments based on the fact that it had stayed longer since on site since it was procured.

Speakers

The speakers ranges from different wattage and they are differ brands which is deployed for this act, which is Bosh Speakers. Taking to it’s name and market domination, which was the client request we deployed the ceiling speakers and the pendant speakers too, the speakers which were used in this deployment was terminated to an audio room. The audio room is like the central nervous system of the installation, at some strategic point we introduced an amplifier so that we can actualize the zoning system.
What’s zoning system if you may ask?, A zoning system is system which place the speakers in segments. Thus if you are playing rock in a particular space the opposite space can be listening to RnB, which in summary simply means playing different music at different location.

The speakers was also integrated to the fire alarm system of the building, in case of fire outbreak there is a paging system that was installed for when you want to make public announcement around the public areas or the guest floors in a particular building.

The screens

There is no audio visual solution without the provision of a screens, which are needed in the meeting rooms for presentation purposes, the screen is connected to the speakers in other to provide audio sound. For easy connectivity of your laptops or mobile phones a media hub is installed some place around the the surface of the table, which is the most convenient place to put it.
The overall experience for me was very educative and during the period of this project I gained a lot intellectually, it increased method conversing with artisans.
