Scientists at work: Uncovering the mystery of when and where sharks give birth - Marine Conservation News

Hannah Verkamp, PhD Student in Marine Biology, Arizona State University, wants to know "Where and when do sharks give birth?" Verkamp's mentor, James Sulikowski, is using the "Birth Tags" from Lotek Wireless to collect birthing data on tiger sharks. These tags go into the uterus of a shark and is released once the shark gives birth. The tag will then reach the surface and begin to transmit data.
