A Blue Damselfly

in Amazing Naturelast year

Damselflies are often confused with dragonflies. Both belong to the same genre but in different families.

In my picture we can see that the wings of the damselfly are folded and very close to the abdomen. A dragonfly can't fold the wings in that way, its wings are always horizontal.

The other difference is that the eyes of a dragonfly are very big and they touch, whereas the damselfly have very separated eyes.

I took the picture in my house's backyard. Its blue color amazed me and I decided to take a picture. Without a doubt, nature is amazing.
