It’s always a pleasure to write on this platform and tell my adventures!

Today I bring you with me to discover the largest aquarium in Italy, which I had the pleasure of visiting a few weeks ago on the occasion of an event. This beautiful building is located in Genoa, the most important city of the Liguria region.

The aquarium was inaugurated in 1992 and at that time it was the largest aquarium in Europe and the second largest in the world. We are talking about a heavenly place for all lovers of science and nature and, in fact, every year it welcomes hundreds of visitors from all over the world!

The famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, born in the city of Genoa, has always been linked to its territory and has been involved in designing the entire structure and the area surrounding the aquarium. The interiors, on the other hand, were designed by the internationally renowned American architect Peter Chermayeff, who specializes in setting up marine works such as aquariums.

The visit to the Genoa aquarium is decidedly long, as it is a walk of at least 3 hours with a total area of 27,000 square meters! Contrary to what one might think, there are not only fish, but also marine mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and small invertebrates. This richness makes the building a really interesting place, since it is possible to observe many micro-environments with different ecosystems.

I would recommend the visit to anyone who wants to spend a few hours immersed in nature, it is suitable for both adults and children, both for simple enthusiasts and for biology scientists. Now I’d like to share with you some pictures of this wonderful place, let me know what you think!

È sempre un piacere scrivere su questa piattaforma e raccontare le mie avventure!

Oggi vi porto con me alla scoperta dell’acquario più grande d’Italia, che ho avuto il piacere di visitare qualche settimana fa in occasione di un evento. Questo bellissimo edificio si trova nella città di Genova, capoluogo della regione Liguria.

L’acquario è stato inaugurato nel 1992 e in quel momento si trattava dell’acquario più grande d’Europa e secondo più grande del mondo. È un luogo paradisiaco per tutti gli amanti della scienza e della natura e, infatti, ogni anno accoglie centinaia di visitatori da tutto il mondo!

Il famoso architetto italiano Renzo Piano, nato nella città di Genova, è da sempre legato al suo territorio e si è occupato di progettare l’intera struttura e l’area che circonda l’acquario. Gli interni, invece, sono stati curati dall’architetto americano di fama internazionale Peter Chermayeff, specializzato nell’allestimento di opere marine come gli acquari.

La visita all’acquario di Genova è decisamente lunga, in quanto si tratta di una passeggiata di almeno 3 ore con una superficie totale di 27.000 metri quadrati! A contrario di quello che si potrebbe pensare, non sono presenti solamente pesci, ma anche mammiferi marini, uccelli, rettili, anfibi e piccoli invertebrati. Questa ricchezza rende l’edifico un luogo davvero interessante, poiché è possibile osservare tanti micro-ambienti con ecosistemi diversi.

Mi sento di consigliare la visita a chiunque voglia passare qualche ora immersi nella natura, è adatto sia per gli adulti che per i bambini, sia per i semplici appassionati che per gli studiosi di biologia. Adesso vorrei condividere con voi alcune immagini di questo luogo meraviglioso, fatemi sapere cosa ne pensate!

Dato che le informazioni sull’acquario più grande d’Italia sono davvero tante, ho preferito dividere il post in due parti per non appesantire la lettura.
