Las plantas son realmente hermosas, y las más evolucionadas, o superiores nos deleitan con los colores de sus flores que, como les he explicado anteriormente, son su órgano reproductor. La flor de una planta, la mayoría de las veces incluso, posee ambos gametos sexuales en una misma estructura, y esto hace que se necesiten de un agente polinizador.

Plants are really beautiful, and the most evolved, or superior ones, delight us with the colors of their flowers, which, as I have explained before, are their reproductive organ. The flower of a plant, most of the time even, has both sexual gametes in the same structure, and this makes them need a pollinating agent.

Ayer estuve muy cerca de un pequeño cultivo de girasoles. Su disposición hacia la luz solar era perceptible y digna de fotografiar. Los girasoles son mi inflorescencia favorita, y si, es que no se trata de una misma flor, es un conjunto de ellas, que se encuentran agrupadas en forma de capítulo.

Yesterday I was very close to a small crop of sunflowers. Their disposition towards the sunlight was noticeable and worth photographing. Sunflowers are my favorite inflorescence, and yes, it is not a single flower, it is a group of them, which are grouped in the form of a chapter.

Su nombre científico es Helianthus annuus y no es más que una angiosperma de la familia Asterácea, herbácea de talle erecto y grueso. Una de las cosas más llamativas, como les he dicho es su capítulo floral, en el que se dejan ver diferentes tipos de flores, algunas estériles, otras hermafroditas y otras de un sexo especifico incluso. Quiere decir que, quien regala un girasol, regala un ramillete de flores.

Its scientific name is Helianthus annuus and it is nothing more than an angiosperm of the Asteraceae family, herbaceous with an erect and thick stem. One of the most striking things, as I said, is its flower head, in which different types of flowers can be seen, some sterile, others hermaphrodite and others even of a specific sex. This means that whoever gives a sunflower, gives a bouquet of flowers.

Cuando las flores son fecundadas comienza a crecer la semilla, si la semilla de girasol que le encanta a muchas aves. Esta semilla contiene dentro el embrión que podría convertirse en un nuevo vegetal y que posee los elementos necesarios para subsistir en los primeros estadios.

When the flowers are fertilized, the seed begins to grow, yes the sunflower seed that many birds love. This seed contains inside the embryo that could become a new vegetable and that possesses the necessary elements to subsist in the first stages.

La evolución de las plantas es asombrosa, pues para poder habitar en el medio terrestre debieron trabajar para adquirir un proceso reproductivo en el que no intervenga el agua, como se hace en algas, briófitos y cormófitos vasculares inferiores (helechos). El girasol, al igual que muchas plantas tienen semillas y dentro de ella se encuentra el cigoto, al que protege de las presiones ambientales y esto se traduce en ¡Supervivencia!

The evolution of plants is amazing, because in order to inhabit the terrestrial environment they had to work to acquire a reproductive process in which water does not intervene, as is done in algae, bryophytes and lower vascular cormophytes (ferns). The sunflower, like many plants have seeds and inside it is the zygote, which is protected from environmental pressures and this translates into Survival!

Podemos apreciar entonces que, en estos girasoles se cumplen importantes procesos para mantenerse en pie a lo largo del tiempo, y definitivamente esto ha sido determinante en su variedad. La naturaleza es increíble, y no solo nos asombra con su belleza y colores, sino con la complejidad de sus procesos.

We can appreciate then that, in these sunflowers important processes are fulfilled to stay standing over time, and definitely this has been decisive in its variety. Nature is incredible, and not only amazes us with its beauty and colors, but also with the complexity of its processes.
