With the advent of AI, I can only imagine what kind of crazy performance insights they come up with. Fascinating world we live in.

You're absolutely right. There is also a new mini-camera mounted on the ref's head to track gameplay. I love statistical analysis on human performance, particularly in the context of sports psychology, but this level of micro analysis could also have unintended consequences on the game, and the experience, as you rightly indicated. Hopefully, it'll be for the best.
