Captured Sunrise From the Edge of the Paddy Fields

In mid-January, I took this photo in the village of Gampong Njong, Pidie Jaya district, Aceh. That morning, I purposefully went for a walk along the edge of the paddy fields in order to catch a glimpse of the sunrise over the eastern horizon.

Yeah, I was born and spent my childhood in this village. After the rice harvest, my buddies and I used to go out into the fields and fly kites. When it rained, we all stripped off our clothing and went outside to play in the mud, chase birds, and play war games with clay. For me, it was the most unforgettable childhood.
