Hello to all of you dear Hive TR members, I have been thinking for a while that I need to clean my computer. It has been 5 years since I bought this computer and I have never opened the case before. So this also means that it has not been cleaned and the thermal paste has not been changed. For a year now, my computer is not working as well as it used to. I wasn't getting as much performance as before, so it was time to take action.

Last week I thought I would open my computer case at home and clean it. I watched a lot of videos online. I found out how to do it. Everyone was saying that it's very simple to open your computer, clean it and close it back up, but at the same time you have to be very careful. I asked the neighbor for a screwdriver, bought a toothbrush from the market (to clean the dust off my computer) and everything was ready. I unscrewed the screws and put it aside. I tried to open the case of my computer slightly but it wouldn't open. I pushed a little bit and I heard crunching, which scared me and I put my computer back in its place. I put the screws back in and I thought it would be better to leave this job to a professional.

So began my adventure of looking for a computer repair shop in the city. At first I thought it would be easy because I live in one of the 10 biggest cities in Turkey. It didn't work out that way. I searched for a repair shop for about 2 hours last night. I took a lot of streets and walked a lot. Here is a picture of how far I walked yesterday. 11.7 km! This is one of my most walked days this year. Even though I love walking, I was quite tired after walking so much.

I had given up and was going to go home, I mean what can I do? Then I saw a phone repair shop and I wanted to ask them. I had nothing to lose. He said he couldn't help me but there was a computer repair shop in the side street. So I went there and I found the repair shop with difficulty because it wasn't on the maps.

Actually, he said that the shop was under renovation and he couldn't do it, but he wanted to help me at this hour. I asked him if he could do it in front of me and he said normally not, but since there was no work right now, he said okay. There are 2 reasons for this. 1. I don't want to have parts stolen from inside my computer, yes I have had something like that happen before but let's talk about that later. The 2nd reason is that I wanted to see how dusty my computer was and I wanted to take a picture of it. The result was much worse than I expected, but the repairman said that my computer was very clean for 5 years. He said he has seen computers that are 1 year old and more dusty or dirty. Here is my dusty computer.

I told him it would be good to remove the battery and I'm glad I did. Look at all this dust! This was all under the battery.

We cleaned it all with the help of the mechanic and I wanted to do it because I wanted to learn how to do it and he was okay with that. It took about 40 minutes and we changed the thermal paste and after the thermal paste was changed, I cleaned it all one more time with a toothbrush. I paid the repairman 200 Turkish Liras for this cleaning, which is about 11 dollars.

After I got home, I wiped my computer screen at home and turned it on about an hour later. I tried to play Fifa 22 for a little test drive. I used to play this game when it first came out and my computer had no problems, but lately it was really impossible to play this game. Now I can play the game without any problems and I'm really happy that my computer's performance has improved. It's much faster than before. Normally your computer needs to be cleaned every 6 months and the thermal paste needs to be renewed. So don't do what I did and if you can do these operations yourself, if not, take your computer to a mechanic.

Hepinize merhaba sevgili Hive TR üyeleri, bir süredir bilgisayarımı temizlemem gerektiğini düşünüyordum. Ben bu bilgisayarı alalı 5 yıl oldu ve daha önce hiç kasası hiç açılmadı. Yani bu aynı zamanda temizlenmediği ve termal macunun da değişmediği anlamına geliyor. Bir yıldır da bilgisayarım eskisi kadar iyi çalışmıyor. Önceki kadar yüksek performans alamıyordum. Bunun için harekete geçme zamanı gelmişti.

Geçen hafta bilgisayarımın kasasını evde açıp temizlemeyi düşündüm. İnternette bir sürü video izledim. Nasıl yapılacağını öğrendim. Herkes çok basitçe bilgisayarını açıp temizleyip geri kapatıyordu ancak aynı zamanda çok dikkatli olunması gerektiğini söylüyordu. Komşudan tornavida istedim, marketten diş fırçası aldım(bilgisayarımın tozlarını temizlemek için) her şey hazırdı. Vidaları söktüm ve kenara koydum. Bilgisayarımın kasasını hafifçe açmaya çalıştım ancak açılmadı. Biraz zorladım ve çıtırtılar duydum. Bu beni korkuttu ve bilgisayarımı geri yerine bıraktım. Vidalarını taktım ve sanırım bu işi profesyonel birine bıraksam çok daha iyi olur dedim.

Böylece şehirde bir bilgisayar tamircisi arama maceram başladı. Başlarda bunun çok kolay olacağını düşünmüştüm çünkü Türkiye'nin en büyük 10 şehrinden birinde yaşıyorum. İşler pek de öyle olmadı. Dün akşam yaklaşık 2 saat tamirci aradım. Bir sürü caddeye girdim ve oldukça fazla yürüdüm. İşte burada dün ne kadar yürüdüğümün bir fotoğrafı. 11.7 km! Bu benim bu yıl en çok yürüdüğüm günlerden biri. Yürümeyi sevsem de bu kadar yürüyünce oldukça yoruldum.

Vazgeçmiştim ve eve dönecektim. Yani ne yapabilirim ki? Sonra bir telefon tamircisi gördüm. Ona sormak istedim. Kaybedeceğim bir şey yoktu sonuçta. O bana yardımcı olamayacağını ancak ara sokakta bir bilgisayar tamircisi olduğunu söyledi. Oraya gittim ve zor da olsa tamirciyi buldum. Çünkü haritalarda görünmüyordu.

Aslında şu an dükkanın tadilatta olduğunu ve yapamayacağını ancak bu saatte bana yardım etmek istediğini söyledi. Ona bu işlemi benim önümde yapıp yapamayacağını sordum. O da normalde olmaz ama şu an iş olmadığı için tamam dedi. Bunun 2 sebebi var. 1. sebep bilgisayarımın içinden parça çalınmasını istemiyorum. Evet daha önce buna benzer bir şey yaşadım ancak o şu an buranın konusu değil. 2. sebep ise bilgisayarımın ne kadar tozlandığını görmek ve fotoğrafını çekmek istiyordum. Sonuç benim beklediğimden çok daha kötüydü ancak tamircinin dediğine göre 5 yıla göre bilgisayarım çok temizmiş. 1 yıllık ve daha tozlu ya da pis bilgisayarlar gördüğünü söyledi. Bataryayı çıkarmamızın iyi olacağını söyledim ve iyi ki söylemişim. Şu toza bakar mısınız! Bunların hepsi bataryanın altındaymış.

Hepsini tamirciye yardım ederek temizledik. Ben de yapmak istedim çünkü nasıl yapılacağını öğrenmek istiyordum, o da bunu sorun etmedi. Yaklaşık 40 dakika kadar sürdü ve termal macunu da değiştirdik. Termal macun değiştikten sonra her yerini bir kere daha diş fırçasıyla temizledim. Bu temizlik için tamirciye 200 Türk Lirası ödedim. Yani yaklaşık 11 dolar.

Eve geldikten sonra bilgisayarımın ekranını da evde sildim ve bir saat kadar sonra açtım. Ufak bir test sürüşü için Fifa 22 oynamayı denedim. Bu oyunu ilk çıktığında oynuyordum ve bilgisayarımda hiçbir problem olmuyordu ancak son zamanlarda bu oyunu oynamak gerçekten imkansızdı. Şimdi ise hiç kasmadan oyunu oynayabiliyorum. Bilgisayarımın performansının artması beni gerçekten çok mutlu etti. Eskisinden çok daha hızlı. Normalde bilgisayarınızın 6 ayda bir temizlenmesi ve termal macununun yenilenmesi gerekir. Yani siz benim yaptığımı yapmayın ve bu işlemleri kendiniz yapabiliyorsanız yapın yapamıyorsanız bilgisayarınızı bir tamirciye götürün.
