This week question is quite technical,well to answer the question one needs to first understand what spirituality means to you as a persons.

WHAT IS SPIRITUALITY?

Cambridge dictionary defined spirituality as the quality that involves deep feeling and believes of religious nature rather than the physical parts of life. To me spirituality means my connection to the supernatural power,trying to find meaning and purpose to life knowing that there is more to life than just what we can see.

WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY?

From dictionary meaning definition of technology is science or knowledge put into practical use to solve problems or invent useful tools. OR

Applying a systematic technique, method or approach to solve a problem. Looking back from history you will agree with me that man has come a long way in terms of technology, from the use of stone to create fire to more advanced methods,from the use of legs to horses and camels to cars and planes to mention but a few.

Spirituality and technology are both working for a common goal which is to give more meaning to life but yet still more complex to understand. The both have been living together for centuries if i may say and will continue to do so.

Can you picture a spiritual person without any communication gadgets such as phone, laptop,or even a wristwatch, well to me its a no. It takes only a spiritual man that wants to live in the stone age that will believe that spirituality and technology can't live together. Must religious worships now uses digital gadget to preach, some uses recorders and televisions for services as well as satellite.
For instance, the evolution of digital banking across the world has made transaction easier for people. gone are those days when people save their money in pit and underground.

Everybody uses the bank which is a product of technology. In religion to serve God effectively we must utilize technological equipment that will aid the spread of the gospel as well as improving our spiritual lives.

In terms of traveling and transportation spirituality meets, in the process of traveling we all need a car, motorcycle, an airplane or even a ship which has advanced so well in technology, bishops and other great evangelist, uses the airplane to travel for evangelistic outreach all over the world.

In the world of medicine, technology has been used tremendously to better the lives of human,through technology mothers can know what is going on with fetus in the womb, she can know the sex of her baby and how best to prepare for its arrival,with technology, operations are being carried out on a daily basis, kidney transplant, brain surgery, caesarian session etc research have shown that the spiritual mind must be at peace with the physical for treatment to work effectively.

In conclusion, spirituality and technology have come a long way to ignore the both or to just believe in one without the other, will technology one day be able take the place of human feeling of sadness, happiness or of love, that i can't say because the future is not predictable, technology still has so much in store for us, the only thing regular and consistent in life is change.

We must not confuse religion with God, or technology with science. Religion stands in relationship to God as technology does in relation to science. Both the conduct of religion and the pursuit of technology are capable of leading mankind into evil; but both can prompt great good.
