Samsung announced that the company will be removing all single use plastic from their smartphone packaging and will utilized recycled ocean plastic in their products by the year 2025.

"These are tangible and ethical action items for us," Kim said. "We can help our Galaxy user use more eco-friendly options and choices in their daily life."

  • Several of Samsung's products are already made with 20% recycled plastic, such as their Galaxy Buds Pro.

  • The new Galaxy S21 packaging creates more than 50% less waste than the 2016 Galaxy S7.

"These concrete goals toward sustainability from Samsung could push the rest of the phone manufacturing industry to take similar steps -- though many are working on similar initiatives as well."

"Apple has set a goal of being carbon neutral by 2030..."

"Microsoft has also pledged to become carbon negative by 2030, and is seeking to undo the greenhouse gas emissions it's sent into the Earth's atmosphere over the lifetime of the company by 2050."

Apple attempting to be carbon neutral by 2030 is great. Microsoft is bringing it to another level with attempting to undo their companies past environmental damage. Do they actually care? Is it a money grab? I don't care as long as they get it done.

🐬🐬🐬Donate to the Dolphin Project 🐬🐬🐬https://www.dolphinproject.com/donate/
Dolphin Project is a non-profit charitable organization, dedicated to the welfare and protection of dolphins worldwide. Founded by Richard (Ric) O’Barry on Earth Day, April 22, 1970, the organization aims to educate the public about captivity and, where feasible, retire and/or release captive dolphins.
The mission of Dolphin Project is to end dolphin exploitation and slaughter, as dolphins are routinely captured, harassed, slaughtered and sold into captivity around the world – all in the name of profit. Dolphin Project works not only to halt these slaughters, but also to rehabilitate captive dolphins for retirement and/or release, investigate and advocate for economic alternatives to dolphin slaughter, and to put a permanent end to dolphin captivity.

Port Sundries is not affiliated with Dolphin Project but supports their goal 100%.
