Marine Protected Areas Outlook - Marine Conservation News

The Nairobi Convention and the Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association have compiled a report on the outlook of Marine Protected Areas.

Part III outlines the Marine and Coastal areas under protection.

Creating protected marine and coastal areas is having benefits and can help the fishing industry, stakeholders, and locals as a whole, it will still take time and effort to keep these areas protected and to expand the amount and boundaries of protected areas.
One of the biggest hurdles at the moment seems to be the ability to enforce due to a "shortfall in human resources".

This is a lot of boring information to some. To others it will be highly educational and give you a more enlightened viewpoint on the subject and necessity of ocean conservation.
