Maybe Russia has a plan. Killing people doesn't normally make things better. There are innocents suffering on all sides. Only lunatics want to kill others over imaginary borders... anyway. Be great today my friend.

My personal opinion is that Putin did not think that the west would impose so many sanctions and he did not plan that the ukrainian people would oppose him. Just as with the annexation of the massacre, he hoped to smuggle his troops in and not encounter any resistance. He expected that the West would not react as well.
