Feedback from the October 1st Hive Power Up Day

in Hive Power2 months ago (edited)

Woohoo, we're back with a massive turnout for Hive Power Up Day. OK, we haven't broken the record, but we're getting seriously close. We look forward to seeing if we can get there next month. In the meantime, here are the results of this October edition.

A few words from the PUD organizers

@traciyork

The bear market certainly seems to be having a long hibernation, but I'm not going to complain about it. Especially since I had the opportunity to get another good-sized amount of Hive to power up this month.

I think it's a safe bet to say lots of other people were excited about Power Up Day this month too, While my Hive & Twitter notifications are always active on the first, they seemed especially so today. I've been seeing lots of familiar faces (some who I haven't seen in a minute) and some new faces as well, which is what I'd consider a successful day regardless of what the numbers turn out to be.

As always, a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this Power Up Day by powering up, posting, and/or shouting out on all traditional web 2.0 social media. All of those things help shine a light on the blockchain, which in turn helps to grow our community. Special thanks to @hivebuzz for always BEEing such an incredible buzz-maker for Hive Power Up Day, and for continuing to add to the blockchain fun. And here's to all the Hiveans, new and old, who continue to increase their voting power and influence on the blockchain - congratulations to you all!

What are the PUD stats for this month?

As usual, let's start first with those who choose to help others grow, the Power Up Helpers, as those are the ones who deserve the most attention.

We have 7 users who have made a power-up to another account and have thus allowed 10 people to get their PUD badge.

Special kudos to those who helped several accounts: @traciyork (4).

Together, the helpers gifted 161.444 HIVE!

Here is the complete list of helpers and their donations:
@madame-cyntaia (110), @eddwood (60), @blocktrades (11.35), @traciyork (11.11), @oaaguy (10.10), @brittandjosie (10), @darkflame (10), @digi-me (10), @jane1289 (10), @silversaver888 (10) and @synrg (10).

A huge thank you to them all for their generosity! Show them some love by upvoting one of their recent posts.

(List by number of helpees)

This brings the number of helpers for this year to 86 users.

Remember that the number of people you are helping will significantly influence the delegation we will do to you.

Let's now take a look at how you did against the previous editions:

As mentioned at the beginning of this post, we had 490 participants.
who powered up 48305 HIVE. We almost beat the absolute record achieved during the month of June with 496 participants. Phew, so close...

Let's now look at what happened with the distribution of power-ups:

Congrats to @celestal (3600), @stayoutoftherz (2000), @vikbuddy (1901,515), @a04 (1500), @traciyork (1234,567), @ace108 (1111), @namelessnameless (1000,296), @mightpossibly (1000), @tattoodjay (1000), @ph1102 (1000) and @gadrian-sp (1000).

They powered up at least 1000 HIVE and got the Jumbo-Bee badge.

Power Up Month is underway!

Don't forget that the Power Up Month challenge now takes place every month.

If you participated in the Power Up Day, you are automatically "registered" for the PUM and can be rewarded with a delegation of Hive Power at the end of it if you pass the challenge.

See you on November 1st for the next PUD!

Looking forward to you getting the jumbo power bee @jane1289

Well done by all!!

Joining the HPUD except on 1st of any month is not counted?

Yes, it is

But, I wasn't in the list of those who powered up.

Sorry, we messed up with the PUM.
So the correct answer is "no". If you didn't power up on the 1st of the month, you're not eligible for the PUD, even if you powered up another day.

This is fantastic, another great month, well done to all the helpers and everyone who participated.
Thanks Traci for coordinating all this :)

Btw you've got a line in the above post that starts with "[REMOVE]".
