Do I need to do anything extra to participate? I mean, do I only need to boost at least 1 Hive per day?

Yes. Power up 1 Hive per day is sufficient
However you don't have to power down in the same period
I started the Hive three months ago. I don't have the luxury of switching off power, on the contrary, I buy hives when the price drops. Thanks for the information, I will try to fulfil this fully this month.
