The mounting glass on the window is given a gap

Hello Steemian
Yesterday we fixed the broken window because the kids kicked the ball and hit the glass. we immediately clean the broken glass and immediately replace the window glass so as not to endanger. At that time the youngest paid attention to what we were doing. he saw the expansion from the moment of making the trim to the new glass.
After the glass installation was complete he approached the window and tried to move the glass. He saw
there was a slight gap in the glass he was installing. He suddenly approached me and protested.
"Well, why isn't the glass in the window installed tightly fixed? If it's tight and there's no gap isn't it much safer than being given a gap that doesn't look sturdy?" the youngest protested.
"You have a point. But what Father and Uncle Tarno did is also right. If it is tightly installed the glass will look strong and not easily swayed. But there are other things to consider?
"What is that?"
"Let's wash my hands first, I'll explain," I replied

Expansion

Provision of gaps or spaces when mounting glass associated with the expansion of objects. In physics expansion is defined as an increase in the size of objects that occur due to an increase in the temperature of a substance.
Expansion can occur in substances that are solid, liquid, and also gas. The magnitude of the expansion of the substance is very dependent on the size of the first object, the rise in temperature and also the type of substance. Different types of substances will have different expansion capabilities. d This expansion ability is known as the expansion coefficient of matter.
Because the money gets bigger, then when it expands, it certainly needs more space. If not given more space, it can result in greater pressure.
in the case of installing our window panes the current gives room or gap. With a gap during the day or hot weather the glass expands so that its size becomes larger. The thickness of the glass increases. With the gap then when expanding glass still has room to be occupied.
If you are not given a gap at all during expansion during the day then there is no place anymore so that the glass can crack because of expansion.
So, it can be said giving the gap when mounting the glass on the window is to prevent the glass from breaking when expanding during the day.

Thus all my writing this time may useful for all of us.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoy it.
