Bicycle tires exploded because of the heat

Hello Steemian
Yesterday the day was quite sunny. We pray together with the children. Before leaving we check the tires. we don't want to be flat on the trip and it will be very troublesome. We pump tires according to our tastes. The eldest prefers hard tires. So he fills the wind with high pressure. Me and the youngest prefer that not too hard. After everything is ready, we depart.
When it was daylight we were still biking. Suddenly the youngest asked to stop to drink at a food stall. The eldest immediately put the bike in a hot place while my youngest and I found a shady place to put the bike.
In the middle we enjoy fresh drinks we hear the sound of the eruption from the direction of our parked bikes. we went out and saw what was happening.
"Well, Fattah's bicycle tire exploded."
"Ouch, we must get to the workshop immediately,"said the eldest."
"Yes. Now we finish our drink first and pay for it."
we also enter the food stall then continue to enjoy drinks and pay for it.
"Well, why did your bicycle tire suddenly explode?" Asked the youngest.
"Let's go to the garage. I'll explain more fully later."
As a parent of course I have to explain to children in a simple but easy to understand way.

Gas expansion

Cyclists are often faced with situations where a tire erupts in the middle of a trip. Most of the cases of broken bicycle tires are caused by high heat, expired tires, and sudden sharp puncture during riding.
In the case of the eldest, we can see from two aspects. The first aspect is that he is filling the tire too high. then when he parked the bike he let it be in a hot place.
Basically everyone can fill the bicycle tire. But often do not realize that the air content of a bicycle tire must be precise and measurable, so that the tire lasts and produces maximum performance and prevents the tire from exploding. Air pressure is standardized in a PSI (pound-force per square inch) unit. Tire air pressure recommendations are usually listed on the outside. You will see the best recommended PSI number range, making sure not to exceed or exceed that number. If too much will cause the tire to erupt.
The mistake the eldest made was to put the bike in a hot place.
We certainly still remember the physics lesson that said that air exposed to high temperatures would expand. When the tire in the hot air inside it will expand. If this happens for a long time, the air volume continues to increase until it cannot be accommodated by the inner tube rubber. Most likely, the inner tube will explode due to increasingly stretchy.
Therefore it is advisable not to hang the bike for too long, or position it so it is not directly exposed to sunlight. If planning a long trip, allocate a few minutes to rest. In addition to unwind, break time can also be used to rest and check the condition of the bicycle. And always remember to park a bicycle in a shady place.

Thank you for reading my post. I hope you enjoy it.
