Mathematics is often considered difficult by many students, even though if we are able to master it we can love mathematics. What's really wrong, so many people don't like math? Now I think to discuss a method to make it easier for students to master mathematics.

One of the educational methods that discusses good learning methods for mathematics is realistic mathematics education. What is a realistic mathematics education method, how is it applied in the classroom? For that I will explain it in detail in this article.

Understanding realistic mathematics education.

Realistic mathematics education is an approach to learning mathematics that places mathematical problems in everyday life. This method aims to make it easier for students to receive material and provide direct experience to students and also combine it with their daily experiences.

As the name implies, realistic is real. Problems in real life or realistic will be used as a source to bring up concepts or knowledge about mathematics learned in school. So that students will be invited to think about how to find problems, solve problems, organize the subject matter.

Realistic mathematics education phase.

In the application of this method, we will go through several phases so that every detail that we run can run well. Here are some of the phases.

  • Activity Phase.
students will learn mathematics through activities, by working on specially designed problems. Students are active participants in the entire educational process so that they are able to develop the depths and intricacies that are truly internalized.

  • Reality Phase.
Students are able to apply mathematics to solve problems at hand. learning is seen as a source for learning mathematics that is linked with the reality of everyday life through the process of mathematization.

  • Understanding Phase
the process of learning mathematics includes various stages of understanding starting from developing the ability to find informal solutions related to context, followed by finding formulas and schemes, until finding the relevant principles.

SOURCE

  • Intertwinement Phase
students have the opportunity to solve context-rich problems by applying various formulas, concepts, and using principles and understanding in an integrated and interrelated manner.

  • Interaction Phase
The process of learning mathematics is seen as a social activity. Thus, students are given the opportunity to interact by sharing experiences, settlement strategies, or other findings

  • Guidance Phase
Through guided reinvention, provide broad opportunities for students to try to find their own mathematical principles, concepts, or formulas through learning activities specifically designed by the teacher.

Thus the discussion about realistic mathematics education Hopefully with this review it can add insight and knowledge to all of you, thank you very much for visiting.
