Elden Ring - Can heroes cast spells?

As you guys know, my character Magic Monk in Elden Ring belongs to the hero class, which is a strength build. I have been levelling up strength like crazy. Traditionally in other games, heroes or warriors cannot cast spells. Can you do it in Elden Ring?

So I have entered the Roundtable hold in the last tutorial. There is a person (Corhyn) here who sells incantations (they start at about 1000 runes each), and another person (Twin Maiden Husks) who sells the equipment needed to cast incantations (finger seal).

After buying both necessary items, I then went back to a site of grace, learned the spell and casted it. The spell I bought was "urgent heal". Unfortunately it didn't heal much HP so I don't think I'll use it again, but it was fun to try!
