Some Thoughts On Education Content Creators [Blog]

Hi there. This is a short education related blog post by me. It's mostly a bunch of thoughts.

I was watching a video/live-stream from Josh Starmer of the Statquest Youtube channel. This was for reviewing my statistics stuff as I am applying for data science related jobs in Toronto. (There are few postings here and there but not as much compared to pre COVID-19 lockdown.) I noticed that there was a request for Statquest to do a tutorial/guide on neural networks from the field of Artificial Intelligence. My first thought was that this request was not too demanding but then again I was thinking that educational content creation involves a lot of work. The work requires planning, remembering the topic, working with the technical details, presenting the topic in a digestible manner and video recording. Requesting for more content can be a big ask (for free content).

There Is A Lot Of Good Free Content On The Interwebs & Youtube

When it comes to technological abundance, we are quite spoiled. Advances in technology has allowed us to get fast internet for obtaining information, smartphones, cryptocurrency, video chat, online gaming, online entertainment and more importantly online education. A lot of this online education can be accessed for free on the internet through blogs, free websites and through free videos.

Give Thanks, Praise & Respect To Free Content Providers

I think content providers who spend their own time, efforts, expertise and generousity to provide quality information to others are noble and kind. Working in the education space and providing good educational content is not that simple nor easy. It does take practice, trial and error and understanding people and their learning styles.

To demand even more from content providers is kind of crazy to me. Instead, give thanks for the content providers who give up their time to help you out.
