You know, many people have ended their life in wheelchair, just because they have been in an accident and that they cannot do normal things in life as all other people can. And in addition, there can be neurological disorders and other things in life, meaning that we should be in a wheelchair for the rest of our lives.

How did really things happen with the wheelchair, and who was the first people to use them? Well, if we are ill or sick in life, and cannot use our body just as all other people can in relation to the expectations that are formed in many societies, there should be a wheelchair in life, to take care of the actual person in question. When was wheelchair invented? The first known dedicated wheelchair (invented in 1595 and called an invalid's chair) was made for Phillip II of Spain by an unknown inventor. In 1655, Stephen Farfler, a paraplegic watchmaker, built a self-propelling chair on a three-wheel chassis.

Which known and famous persons in the world have used a wheelchair? Well, there are several of them, and here we will just mention five of them, and these were:

  • Stephen Hawking. Arguably one of the world's greatest minds, the late physicist and author Stephen Hawking had an incredible impact on the world.
  • Christopher Reeve.
  • Daryl Mitchell.
  • Tamara Mena.
  • Charles Krauthammer.

Some of these persons are still alive, and you can check their mission and main point in the life where they are, and they are using the time being involved with treating motivation and coordination of many kinds, and several of them got in the wheelchair due to an accident, for instance a car accident. And therefore, things are tragically happening, and we should love their personalities, and their ways of being in life, although they have had and still have trouble with doing things.

The wheelchair is one of the most commonly used assistive devices to promote mobility and enhance quality of life for people who have difficulties in walking (e.g. a person with spinal cord injuries resulting in quadriplegia or paraplegia, muscular dystrophy, etc).

People can need wheelchairs for many different reasons. Some have had injuries either to their legs or spine, which controls leg movement. Others have disabilities due to muscular dystrophy or cerebral palsy. In some cases, persons using the wheelchairs don't need to use them all the time. So, there can be an accident happening in life, and there can be other things that imply that one should use a wheelchair. And most of the people ending the life in a wheelchair, cannot come back to ordinary life, just as they were before, and life is living forward, and we are making analysis backward in time. So, if something tragic has happened with us, we cannot change the reality and through away the wheelchair, if this is practical to use. If you can walk sometimes, maybe you do not have to use the wheelchair. And we should love people being involved with using a wheelchair, and this is tragic when it happens.

If you or someone you love is having problems getting around on their own, it may be time to consider a wheelchair. Sometimes, help is needed on a temporary basis, such as recovering from an accident or injury. Other times, a person may need a wheelchair to aid in their overall mobility for the long term.

I believe that it is good for the elderly to learn wheel chair skills while they can still walk. Moving a wheel chair requires upper body strength and agility. So, it is worthwhile to learn the skills before they are needed.
