[ESP /ING] ¿Se debe aperturar los centros educativos en Venezuela? / Should educational centers be opened in Venezuela?
La situación que se está viviendo en los actuales momentos producto de la pandemia hizo que los centros educativos tuvieran que cerrar sus puertas con el fin único de cortar la cadena de contagio del COVID-19, aunque ya han pasado más de un año desde que los centros educativos cerraran sus puertas aún no se vislumbra para cuando se podrá retornar a las aulas, pues el virus sigue afectando a la población.
The situation that is currently being experienced as a result of the pandemic caused the educational centers to close their doors with the sole purpose of cutting the chain of contagion of COVID-19, although it has been more than a year since the educational centers closed their doors, it is still not clear when it will be possible to return to the classrooms, since the virus continues to affect the population.
Si bien es cierto que Venezuela por su situación económica, política y social no estuvo preparada para pasar de un sistema educativo presencial a un sistema educativo a distancia, el estado venezolano se vio en la necesidad de implementar los estudios a distancia con el programa educación en casa el cual fue aplicado en todos los niveles educativos.
Although it is true that Venezuela, due to its economic, political and social situation, was not prepared to move from a face-to-face education system to a distance education system, the Venezuelan state was forced to implement distance education with the home schooling program, which was applied at all educational levels.
Ya en publicaciones anteriores hemos abordado que la educación venezolana a perdido la calidad de su educación, pues al no contar con las herramientas tecnológicas necesarias para implementar estudios a distancia y la no preparación o capacitación del personal docente para impartir sus clases a través de aulas virtuales ha generado esta situación de desmejora en su calidad educativa, además a esto se le suma la gran problemática que viven los ciudadanos con el servicio eléctrico y el servicio de internet que están presentando problemas a diario.
In previous publications we have already mentioned that Venezuelan education has lost the quality of its education, since not having the necessary technological tools to implement distance studies and the lack of preparation or training of teachers to teach their classes through virtual classrooms has generated this situation of deterioration in the quality of education, in addition to this there is the great problem that citizens are experiencing with the electricity service and internet service that are presenting problems on a daily basis.
Toda esta situación antes descrita obliga a pensar y poner en el escenario el regreso paulatino a las aulas de clases, por supuesto que es una decisión que debe ser analizada con mucho detalle pues el virus sigue en nuestro entorno causando grandes cantidades de contagios y muertes a nivel mundial. En Venezuela particularmente el virus está en una curva de ascenso que hace imposible en los actuales momentos hacer un llamado a retornar a las aulas de clases.
All this situation described above forces to think and put on the stage the gradual return to the classroom, of course it is a decision that must be analyzed in detail because the virus is still in our environment causing large numbers of infections and deaths worldwide. In Venezuela in particular, the virus is on an upward curve that makes it impossible at this time to call for a return to the classroom.
Sobre este posible llamado a clases presenciales fueron consultados a nivel nacional a los educadores quienes en su gran mayoría coincidieron con la necesidad que existe de reabrir los centros educativos lo antes posibles para poder garantizar un proceso de enseñanza – aprendizaje mas efectivo y reducir las desigualdades sociales. Los docentes recalcaron que esta decisión no solo debe ser analizada por los efectos de la pandemia, además se debe evaluar las condiciones en la que se encuentran los centros educativos.
Regarding this possible call to classes, educators were consulted at national level and most of them agreed with the need to reopen schools as soon as possible in order to guarantee a more effective teaching-learning process and to reduce social inequalities. The teachers emphasized that this decision should not only be analyzed for the effects of the pandemic, but also to evaluate the conditions in which the schools are located.
Del mismo modo deben garantizarse a los miembros de la comunidad educativa todas las medidas de bioseguridad establecidas por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), y las propias que el estado venezolano implemente como medidas complementaria, para finalizar es una decisión bastante difícil de tomar porque el virus no ha dado tregua y sigue su ola de expansión y contagio y por nada del mundo se deben exponer a la comunidad educativa y mucho menos a los niños al COVID-19.
Likewise, all the biosecurity measures established by the World Health Organization (WHO) and those implemented by the Venezuelan state as complementary measures must be guaranteed to the members of the educational community. To conclude, it is a very difficult decision to make because the virus has not given truce and continues its wave of expansion and contagion and for nothing in the world should the educational community and much less the children be exposed to COVID-19.
