Scheduling Is The Key To Success!

Scheduling Is The Key to Success.png
My entire life I have been a list maker and scheduler. I always loved writing things down in my planner. Yes, before there were cell phones we all carried around little books so we could keep track of our appointments! There was something satisfying at the end of each day checking off the things I was supposed to do and getting them done.

I believe it is the same as when you write your goals down. If you write them, and complete them, you get a higher sense of success. Why is it important to make a daily schedule? I do it for many reasons. In my life I have a lot of distractions. When you have many things that may keep you from getting your work done, having it written down serves as a great reminder of what is left to finish.

When you work as your own boss it is easy to say, "I can come back and finish this later." But I want to emphasize, if you worked for a typical boss would you be allowed to do that? Just walk out on an extended break and say, "I'll see you later tonight, maybe!" You know that wouldn't be allowed. Why?
BECAUSE YOU WON'T BE BACK!!! Your boss knows that! So why are you willing to be so lacking in your own business? It's why 95% of people online don't make it. They won't commit to the discipline. Don't risk you business or your success. Make a schedule. Make a daily schedule, make a weekly schedule and stick to it!

If you are working from home, you are your worst boss! :) and...

"I can come back and finish this later."

can never "come back" :)

And you are right about distractions... last few days I'm a real mess, because of distraction... always something "more important" pops-up and mess my schedule...

I totally understand. My distractions are the reasons I've learned to live on such little sleep.. lol.

Hey Jenna,
Have to be honest, I haven't until recently, been very good at getting things done. I have had planners and journals and they sit there empty. But one thing I have been doing every single day for the last 230 days is using the Start My Day feature in Simpleology. It is fun checking off my tasks as I finish them.

I will have to check out Simpleology. I had never heard of it until now. Looks like a pretty cool idea! I love checking things off or crossing them out off a list.

Preach!

I love this point and it's something that I have fully adopted in my daily habits too. It works!

Totally agree with you. I am a list maker as well but not as organized as you sometimes my list are on scrap paper but they still help me get things completed.

Hey sometimes you don't have to be too organized! There are times when my list never leaves my head, but it still nags at me to get it done! LOL... as long as it gets done!

I am a huge lover of the planners (even the fancy Erin Condren ones) & creating To Do lists. The trick for me is to USE them lol. I am getting better at doing this now & have seen more positive results. Also, learning to break down larger tasks into bite sized steps helps me greatly. I am more likely to complete them, getting the ultimate large task done.

Thanks for the great post. This resonates with a lot of people, I am sure! :)

I hear what you are saying about the bite sized steps. My household gets mad because I have taken my schedule and put it onto my phone so each time we are to transition an alarm goes off. lol. So from 3:30 am to 7:15 am I have 17 alarms that go off... and that's just to get them out the door in the morning! lol..
