Good friends of #med-hive I hope you are well, I have not been here for a while, but the theme of the month motivated me to write something, today I will talk about covid, but I will not cram you with concepts, classifications or treatments, that maybe for another time, today I will talk about my experiences in those two years so strong both from the medical, personal and family.

Those who follow my blog more closely may already know that I am an intern in medicine, that is, I am already in my last year of my medical career when this pandemic began, I was at the end of 4th and beginning of 5th year, they were not easy years, at first this nefarious virus was undervalued, and I think that this was an evil not only in my country, but worldwide, I think the lack of knowledge and facing something so new played a real trick on us, and this contributed to the gradual and progressive increase in the incidence of this disease. As students, our teaching process was interrupted, and we were given the hard task of searching daily, in order to locate early any symptomatology or suspicion of covid. Every morning it was common to knock on doors, greet and ask how the people in the community I had been entrusted with were feeling.

Promoting health was another of our tasks, teaching correct washing, the importance of the use of nasobuco, social distancing, basic hygienic measures, as well as how to manage if someone in the home was infected, because when the hospitals collapsed, the mild cases had to pass the disease at home.

We always took care of the most vulnerable elderly people, with associated pathologies such as hypertension or diabetes, disabled, many were the queues I had to make to ensure these people their medicines and food to prevent them from going out on the street, because of their comorbidities were the most likely to be complicated with this disease.

But undoubtedly the part that marked me as a student and future doctor, and made me still love this vocation that I decided to study, was when hope arrived in that sea of grief, yes, when the vaccine finally arrived, it was necessary to make the population understand the need for everyone to be vaccinated, Today the numbers confirm it, to support the vaccination centers, it was exhausting, they were days of more than 12 hours, sometimes without lunch or rest, but it was very satisfactory the samples of gratitude of all those who attended there, that had no equal, I believe that those who experienced it will be able to give me the reason.

Personally, I think that like many people, and unfortunately I also had to lose a loved one, my grandmother, she did not lack any medication, even in those times of collapsed hospitals, the elderly sometimes did not even reach an intensive care ward, due to lack of availability of beds or lack of supplies, which was not uncommon, it was not easy and even with all the efforts it was not possible to avoid the fatal outcome.

Undoubtedly, this stage was a real challenge for me as a professional and I believe that the vast majority made us better, more humane, conscientious and responsible people. I would also like to thank all the professionals,
technicians, workers, graduates, in short all the people who contributed their selfless work for the common good and also thank you very much to the #med-hive community for this space to share with all of you my experiences and I hope that the theme of the month, as well as my post motivates you too, to read about your experiences. Greetings and see you next time.

Hello @ricardoeloy a pleasure to be here. Thank you for sharing your experience.
The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted our lives in many ways, aspects and scenarios, including educational processes at all levels worldwide. Medical schools and faculties did not escape this onslaught.
My admiration, respect and recognition for assuming the call and playing an active role, aware of the risk taken. You provided help and care, you gave hope, with high social commitment, you strengthened valuable competencies and that is invaluable.
Like you, I lost loved and respected people, they will live on in our memories.
We are part of a transcendental and historic moment; not all generations of health professionals have to live through a pandemic of the magnitude of the one that has befallen us.
We are a before and after, with indelible traces, but with many lessons to tell and share.
Happy week to you.

I also have a brother who had to sit at home for a very long time because of Covid19. The issue with this in Nigeria is that immediately the whole lockdown came to an end, the schools resumed for a few months and embarked on strike. The strike is still on till today.

As for your experience with Covid19, it's interesting to see how deeply involved you got with this.

Throughout that period when Covid19 was spreading at a very high rate, I was always worried about our healthcare works. The job is a risky one.

Good job bro ✌️
