I could not agree more with your conclusions. Now, I'm definitely not seeking out the documentary!

Hahaha! Oh, boy. Thank you so much for taking the time to read through (both posts).

I think the documentary will do some good toa younger generation who may be totally oblivious to the interests behind their SM addictions. I am 47 and I think that anyone my age or older will find it annoying that certain commonsensical issues like parental discipline are ommitted or not even considered as part of the problem (same with celebrities, peer presure, bullying, eating disorders or any other behavioral issue).

I think that it is good that the documentary opens up a possible serious discussion about measures that can be taken to prevent social media from becoming a threat more than a blessing, but I'd be cautious about the agendas behind regulation.
People tend asume that a benevolent government is always going to be behind a regulation and will always care for the people's wellbeing.

Thanks for stopping by @fionasfavorite and you have a wonderful week

Ha! Seems we agree! I have 10 years on you, and will admit that social media play an important part of my life in staying connected. Especially as we live in a village and I have friends and colleagues all over the world. However, I am suspicious of big data, algorithms, AI and annoy the younger generation(s) when I say that I will not accept friend requests from someone I won't break bread with.

I agree on the precipitation of debate. However, it begs the question: will those who need to be debating, watch it?

History has not taught a thing to most.

Funny, I said that to someone else the other day. Apropos something quite different. Sigh...

Happy week to you @hlezama!
