The last and the new library

Greetings!

A library in the past was a home to those who seek knowledge about one thing or the other, most especially those that are into academic or educational learning.

The library before the advent of technology is a place or structure that scholars both young and old visit to gain more knowledge about their chosen field and this place is a place where people read and not only that, it's a place where people can also borrow books to be read at their convenience.

Aside from this, the library also have someone called the librarian. The librarian is usually the person in charge of the library activities. He or she controls and coordinates the happenings in the library.

Having said so much about the library in my introduction, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt which is all about “The last Library.”

To start with and like I have said earlier on, the advent of technology and most especially, the invention of mobile phones and computers have greatly dealt with the working of the physical library and as a result, we now have low patronage at the place where knowledge was once sought after.

Now, people sought for knowledge online and this has totally abolished the effective usage of the library and also rendered the library workers including the librarian jobless.

However, if there's a last library, that library would be empty with nobody willing to visit the place as technology is on course. But if mandated that people should stop using their phones to seek knowledge and there's a breakdown of network, then the last library would be stampeded by knowledge seekers and the library workers would have no rest as they would be called out of their joblessness or retirement to come and assume or resume duty.

On if I still use or visit the library, let me say that, ever since the advent of technology, I have not set my foot at the library as my phone library is there to quench my thirst for knowledge, but even at that, the phone library cannot be used to replace the physical library as distractions with phone is avoidable at the physical library.

Thanks for reading.

Smiles, a lot of us are guilty of this, making use of our phones to do our readings and all, but like you said if a time should come and we need to switch, then a library will come in handy.

Thanks for sharing.

Yeahhh I love that clause. If technology usage is eliminated then the librarian is sure to be the busiest person on earth
