[[ESP/ENG]] INTROSPECTIVA // INTROSPECTIVE
Siempre que escucho una canción en inglés, me pasa que imagino con la música una supuesta temática de la canción que asocio con los acordes que componen la melodía que estoy escuchando, y en mi mente me hago una historia sobre lo que posiblemente puede tratar la letra de la canción a pesar de que conozco el idioma, pero hay veces que no se entiende nada de lo que cantan las personas y nos da pie para que nuestra imaginación comience a fluir, y en donde muchas veces acertamos y en otras nos equivocamos en nuestras indagaciones. Un caso particular que quiero comentar es el de la canción Airbag de una agrupación de Rock alternativo muy famosa llamada Radiohead, que cuando la escuché por primera vez comencé a pensar en el espacio exterior, en el universo, en el cosmos; quizás porque en el coro dice algo sobre salvar al universo, y anterior a esto escuchaba algo sobre una explosión interestelar, pero percibir los tonos y riffs de la guitarra de un gran músico llamado Jonny Greenwood en combinación con los acordes de la otra guitarra majestuosa de Ed O'brien me llevaron a imaginar sobre el espacio exterior y los misterios que esconde el cosmos en esa lejana oscuridad que miramos en el firmamento durante las noches desde nuestro planeta.
Curiosamente la canción no habla en sí sobre el espacio exterior, sino que está basada sobre un accidente automovilístico que sufrió el vocalista de la banda Thom Yorke en su juventud, de ahí el nombre Airbag (Bolsa de aire que se acciona en los asientos de un automóvil para resguardar la vida de los pasajeros), pero dos canciones más allá de ese mismo disco titulado por la banda "OK Computer" también hay una canción cuya melodía te sugiere pensar en el espacio, y aunque también directamente no habla sobre el cosmos, hace en varias ocasiones referencia a esos misterios que se ocultan en esa oscuridad, la canción se titula Subterranean Homesick Alien. El hecho es que comencé a escuchar este disco hoy después de largo tiempo sin haberlo apreciado, y recordé esos pensamientos que volvieron a mi memoria como si fuera la primera vez que escuchaba esas canciones nuevamente. Volvió a mí la curiosidad sobre saber qué es lo que se encuentra allá afuera, y por un momento me sentí un millonario despreocupado por la cantidad exuberante de problemas que padecemos aquí en la tierra para comenzar a preocuparme por los misterios del universo y esa chispa de arrojo hacia la exploración de mundos perdidos en los años luz entre nuestras galaxias.
Hay muchas cosas que han podido explicar las leyes físicas, cuánticas y astronómicas, y un trabajo inmenso que realizaron científicos en la antigüedad a través de la historia para poder llegar a los estudios que hoy en día conocemos y que se siguen desarrollando con cada día que pasa; aunque en los últimos años supongo que los científicos han estado mayormente enfocados en la resolución de la pandemia del Covid-19 que ya está próxima a cumplir tres largos años de azotarnos sin piedad con diferentes variantes, pero que no ha detenido el avance tecnológico para seguir explorando el espacio. El pasado 24 de Diciembre mientras muchos simios se encontraban celebrando en alguna discoteca una fecha que ha sido debatida su autenticidad a lo largo de la historia, y que marca el punto más alto en la idiotez del ser humano por gastar todo su dinero en cosas que no necesita, era lanzado el telescopio espacial James Webb al espacio exterior en busca de algunas respuestas que puedan esclarecer algunas teorías que no han estado muy bien apoyadas a causa de la precariedad tecnológica, quizás nos dé una perspectiva diferente a las que nos ha ofrecido hasta ahora el telescopio Hubble o el observatorio espacial Kepler, y a lo mejor nos muestre cosas que hemos sido incapaces de identificar con la pasada tecnología, y nos abra otro abanico aparte de posibilidades imaginables dentro de las leyes naturales y universales del cosmos.
Conforme a que la humanidad vaya avanzando en el tiempo se va a ir desarrollando aún más la tecnología, el único periodo de retraso en la historia del hombre fue la edad medieval y la época oscura de la iglesia católica, en donde el conocimiento y la tecnología eran vistos como instrumentos del demonio para dañar al hombre y se condenada a cualquier hombre o mujer que hiciera uso de ellos, se les trataba de brujos o hechiceras que había hechos pactos con Satán para hacer magia en la tierra. Un caso imperdonable para la iglesia católica fue la condena a la pira del filósofo Giordano Bruno, quien propuso la teoría de los múltiples mundos, hoy en día popularizados como multiversos, y quien fuera uno de los precursores de la teoría astronómica de la infinitud del universo, y que posteriormente fuese también adoptada por Galileo Galilei, pero que siendo más cobarde que Bruno, negó sus afirmaciones científicas ante la corte y vivió, en cambio Bruno decidió morir valientemente como un mártir en nombre del libre pensamiento y la verdad científica.
Whenever I hear a song in English, it happens to me that I imagine with the music a supposed theme of the song that I associate with the chords that make up the melody I'm listening to, and in my mind I make a story about what the lyrics of the song can possibly be about even though I know the language, but there are times when you do not understand anything of what people sing and gives us cause for our imagination to begin to flow, and where many times we are right and others we are wrong in our inquiries. A particular case I want to comment is the song Airbag of a very famous alternative rock band called Radiohead, that when I heard it for the first time I began to think about outer space, in the universe, in the cosmos; maybe because in the chorus it says something about saving the universe, and before that I heard something about an interstellar explosion, but perceiving the tones and riffs of the guitar of a great musician called Jonny Greenwood in combination with the chords of the other majestic guitar of Ed O'brien led me to imagine about outer space and the mysteries that the cosmos hides in that distant darkness that we see in the firmament at night from our planet.
Curiously the song itself does not talk about outer space, but is based on a car accident suffered by the vocalist of the band Thom Yorke in his youth, hence the name Airbag (air bag that is activated in the seats of a car to protect the lives of passengers), but two songs further on that same album titled by the band "OK Computer" there is also a song whose melody suggests you think about space, and although it also does not directly talk about the cosmos, it makes several times reference to those mysteries that are hidden in that darkness, the song is titled Subterranean Homesick Alien. The fact is that I started to listen to this album today after a long time without having appreciated it, and I remembered those thoughts that came back to my memory as if it was the first time I listened to those songs again. The curiosity came back to me about knowing what is out there, and for a moment I felt like a millionaire unconcerned about the exuberant amount of problems we suffer from here on earth to start worrying about the mysteries of the universe and that spark of daring towards the exploration of worlds lost in the light years between our galaxies.
There are many things that have been able to explain the physical, quantum and astronomical laws, and an immense work done by scientists in ancient times throughout history to reach the studies that we know today and that continue to develop with each passing day; although in recent years I guess that scientists have been mostly focused on the resolution of the Covid-19 pandemic that is about to reach three long years of whipping us mercilessly with different variants, but that has not stopped the technological advancement to continue exploring space. Last December 24, while many apes were celebrating in some discotheque a date whose authenticity has been debated throughout history, and which marks the highest point in the idiocy of human beings for spending all their money on things they do not need, the James Webb space telescope was launched into outer space in search of some answers that may clarify some theories that have not been very well supported because of technological precariousness, perhaps it will give us a different perspective to those offered so far by the Hubble telescope or the Kepler space observatory, and maybe it will show us things that we have been unable to identify with past technology, and it will open another range of imaginable possibilities within the natural and universal laws of the cosmos.
The only period of delay in the history of mankind was the medieval age and the dark ages of the Catholic Church, where knowledge and technology were seen as instruments of the devil to harm man and any man or woman who made use of them was condemned, they were treated as witches or sorceresses who had made pacts with Satan to do magic on earth. An unforgivable case for the Catholic Church was the condemnation to the pyre of the philosopher Giordano Bruno, who proposed the theory of the multiple worlds, today popularized as multiverses, and who was one of the precursors of the astronomical theory of the infinity of the universe, and who later was also adopted by Galileo Galilei, but who being more cowardly than Bruno, denied his scientific claims before the court and lived, instead Bruno decided to die bravely as a martyr in the name of free thought and scientific truth.
Sin duda alguna, muchas personas afirman que de no haber sido por el freno que impuso la brutalidad religiosa en esos tiempos medievales, hoy en día la humanidad estuviese mucho más avanzada en cuanto a ciencia y tecnología, porque seguimos siendo una brutalidad colectiva en muchos aspectos; pero no sería descabellado pensar que si no se fuesen cegado los ojos de quienes miraban más allá de La Biblia, y silenciado las voces de quienes hablaban más allá de Dios, hoy nuestros conocimientos estuviesen en un nivel muy por encima del que tenemos actualmente, y quien sabe, quizás ya los científicos hubiesen encontrado una cura hasta para el VIH o el cáncer, aunque hay ciertas compañías farmacéuticas a las que no les convendría esto, porque aparte de teorías conspiratorias, la medicina es uno de los negocios más grandes, pero el punto es que conoceríamos mucho más de aquello que hoy en día damos por desconocido como la existencia de Dios.
Hay muchos científicos que no creen en una fuerza creadora primaria al tiempo y al espacio, y se esfuerzan constantemente día tras día en demostrarlo, bien sea con teorías como el Big Bang, la famosa Teoría de la Evolución, y muchas otras que suponen al universo independiente de un poder divino o de una entidad suprema que lo ordena y lo regula, o que causa la mayoría de los eventos que suceden en él. Las maravillas de las que la ciencia se jacta en muchas ocasiones son precisamente aquellas que permiten explicar al universo sin necesidad de que exista un Dios. Pero ciertamente hay muchos misterios dentro del universo y todas las leyes que precisamente ha creado el hombre para intentar explicarlos, y dentro de esos misterios se hayan razones que son imposibles explicar mediante la lógica humana, como por ejemplo el hecho de que en todas las células humanas hay códigos genéticos que permiten la composición de un ser vivo, al igual que en la de los animales, pero en los demás objetos materiales no se halla un proceso genético que los vuelva seres vivos igual; o también la perfecta medida o el perfecto balance que hay en cada una de las composiciones de los objetos, es decir, ¿Qué fenómeno regula la medida exacta en un protón y en un neutrón para que no haya una explosión cósmica cuando se están formando nuevas partículas en el espacio y en nuestro planeta.
Es muy apresurado generar juicios absolutos sobre el universo, su creación y las energías y fuerzas que lo componen y lo regulan constantemente para que haya un orden cósmico que permita la vida que conocemos hasta ahora en la tierra, pero algo si puedo asegurar, y es que a pesar de que en el universo se encuentren respuestas a muchas interrogantes que tenemos actualmente sobre la existencia de vida fuera del planeta, la existencia de otras civilizaciones o incluso la existencia de Dios; tenemos problemas más importantes en este vasto planeta que poco a poco estamos deteriorando con nuestras malas prácticas y nuestra pésima humanidad, y algo es seguro, si se invirtiera todo ese conocimiento, dinero y esfuerzo en explorar el espacio exterior para explorar los inconvenientes como el hambre, la falta de agua potable y la resolución de enfermedades que causan los virus como el Covid-19; hoy en día tendríamos muchas cosas resueltas en nuestra larga lista de problemáticas y podríamos sentarnos con mayor calma a mirar las estrellas, pero sinceramente me es difícil pensar en el universo cuando un insignificante planeta del sistema solar aún no resuelve sus diferencias como una sola raza, la humana.
Undoubtedly, many people affirm that if it had not been for the restraint imposed by religious brutality in those medieval times, today humanity would be much more advanced in terms of science and technology, because we are still a collective brutality in many aspects; but it would not be unreasonable to think that if the eyes of those who looked beyond the Bible had not been blinded, and the voices of those who spoke beyond God had not been silenced, today our knowledge would be at a level far above what we have today, and who knows, perhaps scientists would have found a cure even for HIV or cancer, although there are certain pharmaceutical companies that would not like this, because apart from conspiracy theories, medicine is one of the biggest businesses, but the point is that we would know much more of that which today we take for unknown as the existence of God.
There are many scientists who do not believe in a creative force primary to time and space, and they constantly strive day after day to prove it, either with theories such as the Big Bang, the famous Theory of Evolution, and many others that suppose the universe independent of a divine power or a supreme entity that orders and regulates it, or that causes most of the events that happen in it. The wonders of which science often boasts are precisely those that allow us to explain the universe without the need for the existence of a God. But certainly there are many mysteries within the universe and all the laws that man has created precisely to try to explain them, and within those mysteries there are reasons that are impossible to explain by human logic, such as the fact that in all human cells there are genetic codes that allow the composition of a living being, as in animals, but in other material objects there is no genetic process that makes them equal living beings; Or also the perfect measure or the perfect balance that exists in each one of the compositions of the objects, that is, what phenomenon regulates the exact measure in a proton and a neutron so that there is no cosmic explosion when new particles are being formed in space and on our planet.
It is very hasty to generate absolute judgments about the universe, its creation and the energies and forces that compose it and constantly regulate it so that there is a cosmic order that allows the life we know so far on earth, but something I can assure, and that is that although in the universe are found answers to many questions we currently have about the existence of life outside the planet, the existence of other civilizations or even the existence of God; we have more important problems in this vast planet that little by little we are deteriorating with our bad practices and our lousy humanity, and one thing is for sure, if all that knowledge, money and effort were invested in exploring outer space to explore the inconveniences such as hunger, lack of drinking water and the resolution of diseases caused by viruses like Covid-19; today we would have many things solved in our long list of problems and we could sit more calmly to look at the stars, but honestly it is difficult for me to think of the universe when an insignificant planet in the solar system still does not resolve its differences as a single race, the human race.
