Continuamos con el armado de nuestro “set-up”. Como pueden apreciar en el titulo del post hoy nos toca hablar de una de las piezas fundamentales que dan vida a las estaciones de trabajo, asi es, en este articulo hablaremos en detalle del monitor, específicamente del ASUS TUF GAMING VG249Q.

We continue with the assembly of our "set-up". As you can see in the title of the post today we will talk about one of the fundamental pieces that give life to the workstations, that's right, in this article we will talk in detail about the monitor, specifically the ASUS TUF GAMING VG249Q.

Contar con una pantalla lo suficientemente amplia nos facilita las cosas muchísimo y es que si estamos dedicados a los trabajos por internet inevitablemente debemos pasar una gran cantidad de tiempo al frente de dichos monitores. En muchas situaciones estos periféricos no logran ser lo suficientemente cómodos y por tanto nuestro rendimiento productivo se ve severamente comprometido.

Having a sufficiently large screen makes things much easier for us, because if we are dedicated to internet work, we inevitably have to spend a great deal of time in front of these monitors. In many situations these peripherals are not comfortable enough and therefore our productive performance is severely compromised.

Tal es mi caso, pues la totalidad de actividades informáticas/ofimáticas que normalmente desempeño las he realizado durante varios años en una laptop cuyas dimensiones son bastante limitadas pese a que el panel con el que cuenta es de 17 pulgadas, nada mal para una laptop pero ya era tiempo de actualizarme y adquirir una pantalla que se adapte mejor a mis necesidades.

Such is my case, since all the computer/office activities that I normally perform have been done for several years on a laptop whose dimensions are quite limited despite the fact that the panel it has is 17 inches, not bad for a laptop but it was time to upgrade and acquire a screen that better suits my needs.

Por supuesto, desde hace un buen tiempo he querido hacer la compra de dicho equipo pero estaba esperando el momento oportuno ya saben buscando las mejores ofertas, evaluando las distintas marcas etc. Luego de una ardua investigación me decidí por el fabricante Taiwanés ASUS pues le tengo una gran confianza ya que en el pasado he usado sus terminales y me consta que producen equipos de muy altas prestaciones manteniendo siempre esa relación calidad/precio.

Of course, for a long time I have wanted to buy such equipment but I was waiting for the right time and you know looking for the best deals, evaluating different brands and so on. After an arduous research I decided for the Taiwanese manufacturer ASUS because I have great confidence in them since I have used their terminals in the past and I know that they produce very high performance equipment while maintaining that quality/price ratio.

El modelo que decidí adquirir fue el ASUS TUF GAMING VG249Q. Resulta hasta irónico pues como su nombre sugiere este es un equipo destinado a los juegos y yo muy rara vez me dedico a eso, sin embargo, sus prestaciones bastante robustas lo convierten en un “todo terreno” el cual nos servirá para prácticamente cualquier cosa.

The model I decided to buy was the ASUS TUF GAMING VG249Q. It is even ironic because as its name suggests this is a computer intended for gaming and I very rarely do that, however, its quite robust features make it an "all-rounder" which will serve us for almost anything.

El desempaquetado

Al abrir la caja del producto nos encontraremos por supuesto con nuestro flamante panel de 24 pulgadas, el cable de alimentación, el cable de conectividad Displayport, los manuales de guía para el usuario y la base donde irá nuestro monitor la cual por cierto nos permite tener una ergonomía bastante agradable la cual hablaremos más adelante en este post.

The unboxing

When we open the product box we will of course find our brand new 24-inch panel, the power cable, the Displayport connectivity cable, the user guide manuals and the base where our monitor will go which by the way allows us to have a quite nice ergonomics which we will talk about later in this post.

Lo que más me atrajo del monitor

Pues bien, la principal característica que me guio a comprar este monitor fue su amplia pantalla de 24 pulgadas las cuales se aprovechan al máximo pues posee unos marcos ultra delgados que son casi inexistentes diría yo. A la hora de trabajar con contenido multimedia se agradece bastante tener espacio suficiente en el panel y aquí ASUS ha dado justo en el clavo. Claro está, existe más variedad en cuanto a las dimensiones pero creo que 24 pulgadas está bastante bien, tampoco quería una monstruosidad de 32 pulgadas que más bien se tornaría incomodo para la vista a mi parecer.

What attracted me most about the monitor

Well, the main feature that guided me to buy this monitor was its wide 24-inch screen which is used to the fullest because it has ultra thin frames that are almost nonexistent I would say. When it comes to working with multimedia content, having enough space on the panel is quite appreciated and here ASUS has hit the nail on the head. Of course, there is more variety in terms of dimensions but I think 24 inches is pretty good, I did not want a 32-inch monstrosity that would rather become uncomfortable for the view in my opinion.

Otros de los puntos fuertes del VG249Q es su fácil adaptabilidad ya que lo podemos regular a nuestro gusto como se aprecia en los gifs. Esto me gustó muchísimo pues permite aumentar aún más la comodidad en cuanto a los ángulos de visión. Dependiendo la tarea que estemos realizando podemos moverlo de un lado a otros, de arriba hacia abajo etc. Además, es muy interesante que podemos girar el monitor y conseguir una disposición vertical esto resulta ideal para los chats de los streaming y consumo de contenido en redes sociales.

Another of the strengths of the VG249Q is its easy adaptability since we can adjust it to our liking as shown in the gifs. I really liked this because it allows to increase even more the comfort in terms of viewing angles. Depending on the task we are performing we can move it from one side to the other, up and down etc. In addition, it is very interesting that we can rotate the monitor and get a vertical arrangement, which is ideal for chats of live streamings and social media.

En cuanto al apartado de imagen tenemos un panel IPS que me dejó perplejo. La calidad de los colores es alucinante y eso que solo he probado la configuración que trae por defecto. Sin duda esta pantalla ofrece una muy buena experiencia a aquellas personas dedicadas a la edicion de fotos y videos pues los colores se perciben con alto detalle. Tenemos resolución 1920x1080 y como valor agregado contamos con la tecnología Eye care de ASUS la cual ayudará a proteger nuestros ojos en todo momento.

As for the image section we have an IPS panel that left me perplexed. The color quality is amazing and I have only tested the default settings. Undoubtedly this screen offers a very good experience to those people dedicated to editing photos and videos because the colors are perceived with high detail. We have 1920x1080 resolution and as an added value we have ASUS Eye care technology which will help protect our eyes at all times.

Cabe mencionar que posee un par de altavoces integrados que suenan más o menos bien y servirán para escuchar algo rápidamente o cuando no tengamos a la mano nuestro audífonos u otros periféricos de audio. En mi opinión estos parlantes resultan bastante prácticos.

It is worth mentioning that it has a pair of integrated speakers that sound more or less good and will serve to listen to something quickly or when we do not have at hand our headphones or other audio peripherals. In my opinion these speakers are quite practical.

Estas características fueron las razones más destacadas que me motivaron a hacer la compra, sin embargo, este equipo ofrece muchísimas más prestaciones y seguramente algunos están ansiosos por descubrirlas. Por ejemplo, el ASUS TUF GAMING VG249Q es un monitor competitivo, tenemos un milisegundo de respuesta, cuenta con la tecnología FreeSync y nada más y nada menos que una tasa de refresco de 144 Hz ideal para los amantes de los video juegos.

These features were the most outstanding reasons that motivated me to make the purchase, however, this equipment offers many more features and surely some are eager to discover them. For example, the ASUS TUF GAMING VG249Q is a competitive monitor, we have a millisecond of response, it has FreeSync technology and nothing more and nothing less than a refresh rate of 144 Hz ideal for video game lovers.

En cuanto a la conectividad de este monitor tenemos como principal el DisplayPort para llegar a esos deseados 144 Hz y sacar el máximo potencial de este producto, sin embargo, también posee conectividad HDMI 1.4 y VGA D-Sub lo cual se agradece bastante.

As for the connectivity of this monitor we have as main the Display port to reach those desired 144 Hz and get the maximum potential of this product, however, it also has HDMI 1.4 and VGA D-Sub connectivity which is quite appreciated.

Mis consideraciones finales

Llevo un par de días usando el monitor y les puedo decir que el cambio ha sido brutal. Ahora puedo hacer mis tareas con una increíble facilidad sin mencionar lo como que resulta trabajar con este panel. La imagen es bastante fluida, la tecnología de “eye care” ayuda a que la vista no se canse tanto, a la hora de editar alguna imagen se perciben los colores con una extraordinaria nitidez en fin, todo un abanico de buenas impresiones. Estoy basrtante contento de haber adquirido este monitor y lo recomiendo en un 100%.

My final considerations

I've been using the monitor for a couple of days now and I can tell you that the change has been brutal. I can now do my tasks with incredible ease, not to mention how easy it is to work with this panel. The image is quite fluid, the "eye care" technology helps the eye not to get tired so much, when editing an image the colors are perceived with an extraordinary sharpness, in short, a whole range of good impressions. I am very happy to have purchased this monitor and I recommend it 100%.

Por supuesto, antes de finalizar el post hay que hablar de su precio y es que este modelo por lo general oscila entre los 200-300$ pero, al momento de comprarlo me topé con una oferta interesante y lo pude adquirir en amazon por unos 190$, un precio más que razonable pues tomando en cuenta todas sus prestaciones vale totalmente la pena, de hecho, en mi ciudad donde vivo en cualquier tienda de computación se encuentran pantallas más caras y de generaciones más antiguas. Es por eso que mayormente hago mis compras por internet, la gama de dispositivos es mayor y los precios son más razonables, incluso sumando el costo del envió.

Of course, before finishing the post we must talk about its price and this model usually ranges between 200-300$ but, at the time of purchase I came across an interesting offer and I could buy it on amazon for about 190$, a more than reasonable price because taking into account all its features it is totally worth it, in fact, in my city where I live in any computer store you can find more expensive screens and older generations. That's why I mostly do my shopping online, the range of devices is greater and the prices are more reasonable, even adding the cost of shipping.
