[ENG|ESP] My experience upgrading to Windows 10... just to play Clone Hero

People who play videogames do weird things, VERY weird, some people fight for no reason about which multimillionaire company is better, others fight because a game should have an easy mode or not, and others buy lots of lights for their PC because they SUPPOSEDLY cause the PC to have more FPS, and obviously this last one is true, nobody can prove otherwise.
Jokes aside, today I come to tell my experience taking one of these weird decisions, it all started with my bluetooth dongle review post, there I explained that one of my goals was to play Clone Hero with my guitar, which I couldn't achieve since I use Windows 8.1, and the necessary software only works on Windows 10, despite the warnings of some users, which I appreciate very much, I decided to jump to W10, but not without taking some preventive measures before, such as creating a secondary partition and thus in case of any failure or uncomfortable situation, I can easily return to my comfortable Windows 8.1.
Honestly it would have hurt me to leave W8.1 because I find it quite comfortable and I would like to keep it.
In general, my experience with Windows has been, very... VERY strange, I have used Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, most will agree that both Windows XP and Windows 7 are two very good operating systems, and in the case of XP I can agree, but Windows 7 is the operating system that has caused me more headaches throughout my life, my pc has always handled moderately well every Windows, curiously Windows Vista has been the one that worked best for me for a long time, but it's already quite old and I preferred to eventually move to Windows 8, another system that has been criticized for the changes it introduced, but despite that it's quite light for a Windows, 8.1 does nothing but improve on that, and if you don't like Windows 10 it's the best option you could have in my opinion.
But this post is about Windows 10, and about Clone Hero, so let's talk about that.
The installation was no big deal, I downloaded the ISO, transfered it to a USB, installed it in the secondary partition, to which I assigned 30 gb because I don't plan to use it much, and that was it, the rest was waiting.
I had a small problem with the boot, for some reason when I rebooted the computer it only booted directly to Windows 8.1, I had to use EasyBDC to configure the boot manually and there were no problems.
I've always liked the visual aspect of Windows 10, it's very minimalist and also the dark theme looks quite elegant, a pity that it needs inhuman amounts of ram to function properly, to give you an idea, I leave the humble requirements of my pc, sure you will realize that using W10 with such an outdated pc is a shot in the knee, and it surely is.
After installing I did the basics, I looked for the drivers for the graphics (I have a Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT 1GB DDR2), it's really amazing how such a basic graphics these days helps me so much to play certain things, its biggest limitation is that I miss any game that uses DirectX11 or higher, like Bloodborne demake for PC, but other than that, it has worked very well for me.
With all the basics in place, I grabbed my guitar and the moment of truth came, try to synchronize it with the pc via bluetooth, for this you need a program called "Wiitar thing", the process is simple, the program has a red button that says "Sync", you have to press this first, and then the "Sync" button that is on the Wiimote, already connected to the guitar, in Windows 8. 1 the program threw me an error in this step and I couldn't pair the controller, this time, the pairing was successful, but I had to "connect" the control, to assign a port according to the number of players, because up to 4 are supported, at this point the program crashed and I assumed the worst, but I tried again and this time it was configured as player 1 successfully.
The Wiitar thing itself provides you with a shortcut to a panel where you can verify the correct operation of each button on the guitar "translated" to an Xbox 360 controller, so beyond the Clone Hero, this allows you to use the guitar as a controller in any game compatible with an Xbox 360 controller, a challenge suitable only for the most masochistic haha.
Once inside Clone Hero, I didn't have to do any additional setup or anything like that, the default settings worked perfectly, the wonder of this game is that it doesn't really bring any songs beyond a couple, so you can add whatever music you want as long as someone has charted it, for example, one of the first ones I looked up was "No Big Deal" from the animated series Amphibia, and another one that is literally a meme at this point.
I don't consider Clone Hero a substitute for Guitar Hero, as I love to turn on the console and sit down to play Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, but it's a very good complement, especially if there is a song that you REALLY want to play and isn't available in any of the official games, in that sense it's like osu!, the limit is the creativity of the community, also, the game is still in development, so its support is far from over.
I had a problem while using Windows 10 the first time, and it was that the operating system was "stuttering", every so many seconds it would freeze, and this affected the audio and obviously anything else you tried to do, it was very annoying so I tried to install a driver for the chipset that came with my pc, it SEEMS that this solved the problem, now everything runs smoothly within what a pc like mine can get, just playing music and having it play without choppy sounds is very satisfying.
In conclusion, everything went well for me this time, I just need to add more songs to the game progressively, I hope that if there is someone who wants to do this same process my experience will be useful, thank you very much for reading, I hope you liked it.

Las personas que jugamos a videojuegos hacemos cosas raras, muy raras, algunos se ponen a pelear sin razón por cual compañía multimillonaria es mejor, otros se pelean porque un juego debería tener un modo fácil o no, y otros compran montones de luces para su PC ya que SUPUESTAMENTE causan que la PC tenga más FPS, y obviamente esto último es verdad, nadie puede demostrar lo contrario.
Bromas aparte, hoy vengo a contar mi experiencia tomando una de estas decisiones raras, todo empezó con mi post de la review al dongle bluetooth, allí expliqué que una de mis metas era jugar a Clone Hero con mi guitarra, cosa que no pude lograr ya que utilizo Windows 8.1, y el software necesario solo funciona en Windows 10, a pesar de las advertencias de algunos usuarios, las cuales agradezco mucho, decidí saltar de sistema operativo, no sin tomar algunas medidas preventivas antes, como crear una partición secundaría y así en caso de cualquier fallo o situación incómoda, poder regresar fácilmente a mi cómodo Windows 8.1.
Sinceramente me hubiese dolido salir de W8.1 pues me parece bastante cómodo y me gustaría conservarlo.
En general, mi experiencia con Windows ha sido, muy… MUY extraña, he utilizado Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1 y 10, la mayoría coincidirá en que tanto Windows XP como Windows 7 son dos sistemas operativos muy buenos, y en el caso de XP puedo coincidir, pero Windows 7 es el sistema operativo que más fallas y dolores de cabeza me ha provocado a lo largo de mi vida, mi pc siempre ha manejado medianamente bien todos los Windows, excepto el 7 que siempre se me colgaba aleatoriamente, curiosamente Windows Vista ha sido el que mejor me funcionó durante mucho tiempo, pero ya está bastante viejo y preferí pasar eventualmente a Windows 8, otro sistema muy criticado por los cambios que introdujo, pero que a pesar de eso es bastante ligero para un Windows, 8.1 no hace más que mejorar eso, y si no te gusta Windows 10 es la mejor opción que podrías tener en mi opinión.
Pero este post es sobre Windows 10, y sobre Clone Hero, así que hablemos de eso.
La instalación no fue nada del otro mundo, bajar la ISO, pasarla a un USB, instalarla en la partición secundaria, a la cual asigné 30 gb pues no planeo darle mucho uso, y listo, el resto era esperar.
Tuve un pequeño inconveniente con el arranque, por alguna razón al reiniciar la computadora solo booteaba directamente a Windows 8.1, tuve que utilizar EasyBDC para configurar el arranque manualmente y ya ahí no hubo problemas.
Siempre me ha gustado mucho el apartado visual de Windows 10, es muy minimalista y además el tema oscuro se ve bastante elegante, una pena que necesita cantidades inhumanas de ram para funcionar adecuadamente, para que se hagan una idea, les dejo los humildes requisitos de mi pc, seguro se darán cuenta que utilizar W10 con una pc tan desfasada es un tiro en la rodilla, y seguramente lo sea.
Después de instalar hice lo básico, buscar los drivers para la gráfica (tengo una Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT de 1 GB DDR2), realmente es sorprendente como una gráfica tan básica en estos días me ayuda tanto a mover ciertas cosas, su mayor limitación es que me pierdo de cualquier juego que utilice DirectX11 o superior, como el demake de Bloodborne para PC, pero fuera de eso, me ha funcionado muy bien.
Con todo lo básico en su sitio, agarré mi guitarra y llegó el momento de la verdad, intentar sincronizarla con la pc vía bluetooth, para esto se necesita un programa llamado “Wiitar thing”, el proceso es sencillo, el programa tiene un botón rojo que dice “Sync”, hay que oprimir primero este, y luego el botón de “Sync” que está en el Wiimote, ya conectado a la guitarra, en Windows 8.1 el programa me arrojaba un error en este paso y no lograba emparejar el control, en esta ocasión, el emparejamiento fue exitoso, pero faltaba “conectar” el control, para asignarle un puerto según el número de jugadores, pues se admiten hasta 4, en este punto el programa me crasheo y asumí lo peor, pero volví a intentar y esta vez sí se configuró como el jugador 1.
El propio Wiitar thing te provee de un acceso directo a un panel donde puedes verificar el correcto funcionamiento de cada botón de la guitarra “traducido” a un control de Xbox 360, por lo que más allá del Clone Hero, esto te permite utilizar la guitarra como un control en cualquier juego compatible con un control de Xbox 360, un reto apto solo para los más masoquistas haha.
Ya dentro del Clone Hero, no tuve que hacer ningún tipo de configuración adicional ni nada por el estilo, la configuración por defecto funcionaba perfectamente, la maravilla de este juego es que realmente no trae ninguna canción más allá de un par, así que puedes agregar la música que desees siempre y cuando alguien haya hecho el chart necesario, por ejemplo, una de las primeras que yo busqué fue “No Big Deal” de la serie animada Amphibia, y otra que es literalmente un meme a estas alturas.
No considero a Clone Hero un sustituto de Guitar Hero, pues me encanta encender la consola y sentarme a jugar Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, pero sí es un muy buen complemento, sobre todo si hay alguna canción que DE VERDAD desees jugar y no esté disponible en ninguno de los juegos oficiales, en ese sentido es como el osu!, el límite es la creatividad de la comunidad, además, el juego aún está en desarrollo, así que su soporte está lejos de acabar.
Tuve un problema mientras utilizaba Windows 10 la primera vez, y era que el sistema operativo funcionaba de forma “entrecortada”, cada tantos segundos se congelaba, y esto afectaba al audio y obviamente a cualquier otra cosa que intentaras hacer, era muy molesto así que intenté instalar un driver para el chipset que vino con mi pc, PARECE que esto solucionó el problema, ahora todo funciona de forma fluida dentro de lo que una pc como la mía puede conseguir, el simple hecho de poner música y que se escuche sin entrecortarse es muy satisfactorio.
En conclusión, todo salió bien para mí en esta ocasión, solo me queda añadir más canciones al juego progresivamente, espero que si hay alguien que desee hacer este mismo proceso mi experiencia le sirva de algo, muchas gracias por leer, espero les haya gustado.

Win 10 me vino con el computador que compre, y de un momento a otro lo desinstaló, desconecta el internet cada tres o cinco minutos y tengo entendido que hace lo mismo con la señal Wii. Espero que no te dé demasiados problemas. Que tengas la mejor de las suertes.
Por ahora, no me ha dado ese problema, lo que he notado es que tiene bastantes problemas si no usas drivers específicos según tus componentes, siento que en W8.1 son menos propensos a causar inconvenientes, pero esa ha sido mi experiencia solamente, gracias por comentar.
