today I will share my experience with the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2. This is a premium headphone that doesn't feel cheap coming from packaging to the materials used to make this headphone. This was one of the True 7.1 surround sound headphones that I have tried, which required "5" 3.5 jack supported motherboards to work. This headphone also has 10 individual drivers for delivering sound from different directions and to be honest, that is the main demerit of these headphones. it uses "5" 3.5 jacks for controlling individual drivers and the drivers which have no signals of information will be silent or muted. So the headphones will sound bad listening to music which is in stereo audio and the only place where it shines is when we listen to 5.1 and 7.1 which will work excellently in these headphone. which will also give you a theatre-like experience while watching movies

So the reason why I brought the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 headphones was that I was really entering into competitive gaming and I really thought that a real 7.1 headphones will sound better than virtual surround sound and I searched for a True 7.1 gaming headphones and I saw the Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2 in Mdcomputers and there was a huge offer at that time which made me buy these headphones. I didn't think twice I ordered these headphones from months of savings that I had. I really thought that it would sound great as it was built for giving True 7.1 audio experience while gaming, but there were other things that I didn't really know about these headphones that I only know while using it

The main reason why everyone will buy Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2

The biggest reason is that the initial price of the Razer Tiamat True 7.1 V2 was around 19299 INR and after a year later due to negative reviews it got in the internet the brand decided to discontinue as well as reduce the price of the product to 4450 INR from 19299 INR. So everyone will expect that a 19000 INR headphones will anyway perfome better than an 5000 INR headphones and it's a razer product and everyone has high hopes for such a brand with razer being one of the leading brands in gaming. everyone expects the products from them to outperform other products available in the market. The company commercial these headphones to be one of the best competitive gaming headphones out there Razer Tiamat True 7.1 V2 Website and those people who read all of this, will definitely think that these are the best surround sound headphones in the market. but I would say that it is just a marketing strategy, as most of people will go for more features while buying a headphones rather than how good it actually sounds another reason being most competitive gamers are willing to buy real 7.1 headphones to see the difference between virtual and true 7.1

The main problems of Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2

This is a True 7.1 headphones So that means it has each individual analog audio cables for the 7.1 output like the front, rear, sides and centre. So that also means that your motherboard will require 7.1 audio support as well as 5 3.5mm jacks at the rear. The USB is for the RGB lighting inside the headphones, for giving power to the drivers inside the headphones and for the built-in sound card in the headphones

because the headphones will consume all of the 3.5 jacks of the motherboard razer included a custom sound card also for connecting speakers, mics and etc. but the sound coming out of the sound card was not that good as you might expect, So it was the worst experience in that department also.
The custom sound card can control the volume levels of all the drivers individually inside the headphones like front, rear, sides and centre. It has a Mute button, speaker/headphones button, 7.1 buttons and 2 rotating button

1st rotating button is for switching drivers like front, rear, sides and centre.
2nd rotating button is for controlling the volume

How was the sound quality of Razer Tiamat True 7.1 V2

At first, I watched some of the movies that I had which supported DTS 5.1 audio and the headphones sounded pretty good I was really happy at that time hearing how good the sound quality was. But all my hopes for these headphones was gone when I watched a movie that was not 5.1 or 7.1. the sound is so bad with poor balance in audio and the sound was not sounding exactly as it should. considering this headphones price there were other headphones that I could have brought which will give me 3 times better audio than this. those headphones will be listed in the conclusion

after that, I tested the headphones in Games like

1. Valorant

2. Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Siege

3.CS GO

Games list
1.Valorant (had no support for 7.1)
2.CS GO (had supports for 5.1)
3.GTA V (had no support for 7.1)
4.Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Siege (had no support for 7.1)
5.Warface (had no support for 7.1)
6.Pubg Mobile (had no support for 7.1)
7.Crysis (had no support for 7.1)
8.Fear 3 (had no support for 7.1)
9.Resident evil 3,4 (had no support for 7.1).

from 9 games I tested only 1 game had 5.1 surround sound

So I have tested the Razer Tiamat True 7.1 V2 on games like Valorant, CS GO, GTA V, Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Siege and Warface. I must say the headphones sounded terrible on all of the games except CS GO because CS GO had support for 5.1 surround sound and all other games have stereo sound with virtual 7.1 surround sound so for that reason almost 99% of the games will not support real 7.1 for that reason this headphone is a scam

My Conclusion About The Razer Tiamat 7.1 V2

Most of the games that we play right now don't have supports for analog 7.1 outputs and no matter whatever claims companies make while releasing these headphones, it's all a marketing trick and doesn't get be fooled by them and don't waste your money on these headphones. These true 7.1 headphones are only good for listening to real 7.1 audio with front, rear, sides and centre sound signals. if an audio that has no 7.1 support is listening from these headphones they will sound really bad and some of the aspects of sounds will be muted, I think that was the biggest reason why razer discontinued this product and also reduced the price. In conclusion, I would say that don't waste your money on a true 7.1 headphones, buy a good headphone with a virtual 7.1 surrounds sound. some good headphones available in the market is listed below

1.Razer BlackShark V2 X
2.Razer Kraken 7.1
3.Cooler Master MH650
4.Cooler Master MH630
5.Razer Kraken
6.Cooler Master CH321

It is unfortunate that this device, which at the beginning was quite expensive, does not fully adapt to the most common audio formats, conditioning its use to certain movies or video games that support such technology. I'm sorry you wasted your savings on a device you won't be able to use forever. Thanks for sharing your experience.

it's very sad to see that none of the newly released games really support true 7.1 surround sound instead, they are sticking to the same old stereo audio with virtual surround sound and the efforts these brands put forward for making a futuristic headphone is going to waste. I think maybe in the future most headphones will be having this technology but for now, this headphone is useless. I would say if razer gave an option to switch to 2.1 which sounded good then it would be a great buy. razer has an option to turn of the 7.1 sound in the sound card but then it sounds really bad
