The first Tablet I had, Retro-unboxing and Retro-review.

Greetings and good afternoon my dear friends from geek zone, I hope everyone is very well, today I have returned to share with you a very funny and interesting topic, I mean a retro review. I will tell you about the first tablet that I acquired in my life and that I still keep today. I hope this article is to your liking, as we begin:

We are all used to seeing reviews and unboxings of current and modern equipment, but this time I will take you back in time about a device that I acquired many years ago and that was the first tablet I was able to obtain. Specifically, it is 9 years old and I bought it in 2013, since then I have had other tablets but the one I am going to present to you next I took a lot of love for being the first one, that's why I decided to keep it.

Introducing the team.

IMG_20220414_154750519.jpg

This is the box where the original product came, luckily it is in quite acceptable condition, so all the details can be seen well.

The first thing we can notice is that its model and brand are: Titan PC7074ME. In addition to this we can see the novelties that existed for those years in this type of equipment. Here are a few:

News:

-It had the novelty of bringing the latest update of android 4.2.

-This incorporated the so-called G sensor that allowed the screen to rotate.

-It came with front and rear camera.

Opening the box.

IMG_20220414_154929293.jpg

In the image above you can see the original packaging where this equipment came, practically it is preserved as the first day. I still remember when I first opened it a long time ago.

Box compartments.

Before showing you the equipment, I want to show you some curious compartments that the box of this tablet brings:

IMG_20220414_155121477.jpg

Removing the tablet we can see some curious details, for example at that time some boxes brought foam protectors so that the equipment was not damaged, in the image it can be seen.

Following this we can see some very nice letters that change color depending on the angle that the light strikes.

IMG_20220414_155142488.jpg

The second compartment can be found below, here we can see a brief quick start guide where the basics are explained.

And there is a third compartment where all the accessories that this tablet comes with are, I will show them to you later.

The tablet.

And now if the time has come to show you the equipment, it is quite well taken care of despite the time it has.

IMG_20220414_155052295.jpg

As you can see in the image, it is an old tablet, this can be seen mainly by the android layer that all the equipment of the time brought by default. The screen is flawless and has hardly any scratches.

The edges are quite pronounced and very different from what we are used to today.

IMG_20220414_155104740.png

On the back we can see that it is white, unfortunately this part is a bit worn so the brand and model that were originally printed are not noticeable.

A curious fact that I tell you is that the small hole that you see at the bottom is not a microphone but is actually a hidden button to do an emergency reset. And you will say what is that for? The answer is easy, at that time if the tablet was blocked or crashed you could not turn it off leaving the power button pressed, for that function the hidden button came, to make it work you had to insert a needle and then you could restart your team. Today that cumbersome method is left behind.

Accessories.

This equipment has some basic accessories to get the best out of it, some of them are.

IMG_20220414_155237223.png

-A normal charging charger at 5W. Its connector is from the old ones.

-Very basic headphones but they actually fulfill their function very well.

-An installation disk so you can update the Firmware of the tablet.

-And finally the quick guide.

The details:

Now I will tell you some technical data about this device.

-It has a dual core rockchip processor at a speed of 1008 MHZ.

-On the ram side we can use 512 MB.

-The storage is 8GB.

-The screen has a resolution of 480x800, with a pixel density of 134dpi.

  • And finally the GPU is a mali 400.

Nowadays most of these properties are obsolete and it would be inconceivable and impossible to enjoy the contents that are currently offered. But in its time it worked very well with anything you wanted to put on it.

Well, my dear friends from geek zone, this was the retro review that I wanted to share with you today, for me that tablet means a lot because it was the first one I could afford, I keep it as a very precious relic. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my article, if you wish you can leave me your opinions in the comments. I wish you a great evening.

All the photos used in this article were taken with my phone.

That's a really nice retro review and its interesting to look at how fast technology becomes obsolete.
