Tenía este unboxing pendiente hace un buen rato, pero es que entre el cuento del adaptador surreal y el premio del Nintendo Switch, ambos le robaron protagonismo, y tocó posponerlo. Pero de ninguna manera podía dejar de hacer esta publicación, menos después de la polémica que despertó.
Los pongo en contexto. Resulta que un día publiqué una foto “sugerente” de este dispositivo en Twitter, y las reacciones fueron muy cómicas, pues la mayoría interpretó la imagen asumiendo que se trataba de otro tipo de dispositivo, uno cuyo unboxing tal vez no tendría cabida en esta comunidad sino en la comunidad Love & Sexuality... ya podrán suponer lo que pensaron.

I had this unboxing pending for quite a while, but between the story of the surreal adapter and the Nintendo Switch prize, both took away the importance of this unboxing, and I had to postpone it. But there was no way I could not make this publication, especially after the controversy it aroused.
Let me put them in context. One day I posted a "suggestive" picture of this device on Twitter, and the reactions were very funny, as most of them interpreted the image assuming that it was a different kind of device, one whose unboxing might not have a place in this community but in the Love & Sexuality community... you can guess what they thought.

Ahora bien, lejos de cualquier suposición indecorosa, el dispositivo que hoy les comparto no es otra cosa que un estabilizador de imagen. Un aparato electrónico diseñado para estabilizar las imágenes cuando las tomas se hacen en movimiento. Bien sea que subamos o bajemos la cámara, o que la llevemos de un lado a otro, el estabilizador se encargará de mantener la cámara (o el celular en este caso) balanceada para que esos movimientos involuntarios no se vean reflejados en la grabación. Básicamente, de eso va, aunque incluyen funciones adicionales que lo hacen super genial, como el seguimiento de objetos, por ejemplo, que es algo que me encanta.

It's a Gimbal... a gim-bal
However, far from any unseemly assumption, the device I am sharing with you today is none other than an image stabilizer. An electronic device designed to stabilize images when shooting on the move. Whether we move the camera up or down or take it from one side to the other, the stabilizer will be in charge of keeping the camera (or the cell phone in this case) balanced so that those involuntary movements are not reflected in the recording. Basically, that's what it's all about, although they include additional functions that make it super cool, like object tracking, for example, which is something I love.
Un nuevo concepto...
No suelo hacer contenido audiovisual en Hive. Lo consumo, sí, admiro a muchos que hacen un contenido audiovisual brutal, pero particularmente disfruto más la escritura. Sin embargo, siempre es un reto salir de la zona de confort, por lo que he estado estudiando y preparándome para incursionar en el tema de la grabación, sobre todo la grabación en exteriores y espacios abiertos. Al respecto, tengo una idea muy chévere rondándome en la cabeza, no creo que sea un proyecto a corto plazo, pero llegado el momento de lanzarme a la aventura, quiero tener ya los equipos necesarios para hacerlo lo mejor posible. Y uno de esos dispositivos claves, es precisamente el estabilizador de imagen o gimbal, como también se le conoce.
Si bien no se trataba de una adquisición prioritaria, apenas tuve la oportunidad de compra, no dudé en hacerlo. Previamente ya había leído algunas recomendaciones de los más conocedores del tema y fue así como supe de la marca Zhiyun, que tiene una amplia gama de dispositivos electrónicos y motorizados para la estabilización de imágenes, desde los más básicos hasta los más sofisticados. Obviamente, esto último se traduce en una diferencia abismal en términos de precio, por lo que mi elección apuntó a un dispositivo que sin mayores pretensiones, fuese capaz de cumplir el objetivo principal de lograr buenas tomas con un nivel de estabilización aceptable, de manera de obtener un aspecto más profesional en la grabación.

A new concept...
I don't usually make audiovisual content on Hive. I consume it, yes, I admire many who make brutal audiovisual content, but I particularly enjoy writing more. However, it is always a challenge to get out of my comfort zone, so I have been studying and preparing myself to venture into the subject of recording, especially recording on location and open spaces. In this regard, I have a very cool idea in my head, I do not think it is a short-term project, but when the time comes to launch into the adventure, I want to already have the necessary equipment to do it as best as possible. And one of those essential devices is precisely the image stabilizer or gimbal, as it is also known.
Although it was not a priority purchase, as soon as I had the opportunity to buy, I did not hesitate to do so. I had previously read some recommendations from the most knowledgeable on the subject and that's how I learned about the Zhiyun brand, which has a wide range of electronic and motorized devices for image stabilization, from the most basic to the most sophisticated. Obviously, this last means an abysmal difference in terms of price, so my choice focused on a device that, without major pretensions, would be able to meet the main objective of achieving good shots with an acceptable level of stabilization, so as to obtain a more professional look in the recording.

En este sentido, me decanté por el Estabilizador Zhiyun SMOOTH Q2. Este dispositivo, entre muchas bondades, tiene a su favor que es bastante pequeño y ligero, apenas 20 cm de tamaño, por lo que puede ser fácilmente transportado sin ocupar mucho espacio. Ahora, por pequeño no deja de ser altamente funcional, pues admite varias modalidades de grabación que pasan por el seguimiento de objetos, tomas fijas, panoramas, modos de retrato, entre otros; lo que permite capturar detalles desde una perspectiva visual superior y mucho más creativa. Adicionalmente, incorpora una batería con autonomía para 16 horas de grabación.

This device, among many benefits, has in its favor that it is quite small and light, just 20 cm in size, so it can be easily transported without taking up much space. La caja es de un tamaño similar a la de un teléfono de 6.7”, bastante discreta considerando el potente aparato que guarda en su interior. Dentro de la caja, además del SMOOTH Q2, se incluye un soporte para sujetar el celular, un cable de carga USB-C, una correa de muñeca, y por supuesto, un manual de usuarios en el que se recomienda descargar la app ZY Play, disponible tanto para iOS como para Android, pues su uso es determinante para explotar el potencial del estabilizador. Confieso que es de las pocas guías de inicio que ha valido la pena leer.

Unboxing
The box is similar in size to that of a 6.7" phone, quite discreet considering the powerful device it holds inside. Inside the box, in addition to the SMOOTH Q2, is included a phone holder, a USB-C charging cable, a wrist strap, and of course, a user manual in which it is recommended to download the ZY Play app, available for both iOS and Android, as its use is crucial to exploit the potential of the stabilizer. I confess that it is one of the few starter guides that has been worth reading.

El uso del SMOOTH Q2 es bastante intuitivo, en las primeras de cambio parece complicado, pero no lo es para nada. Ciertamente, hacer uso de la aplicación ZY Play es fundamental para poder experimentar las distintas modalidades y funcionalidades del estabilizador. Del resto, como en todo, es cuestión de mucha práctica e ir hacer pruebas de ensayo y error. De hecho, el proceso de aprendizaje puede llegar a ser muy divertido, es increíble todo lo que se puede lograr con un poco de creatividad.
Pues bien, mis estimados, como habrán visto este si es un unboxing para GeekZone. A esas mentes “cochambrosas” que estuvieron lejos de la realidad, revísense…vayan a misa 😂🤣😅
