Hello #Hive friends and lovers of new technologies, writing my previous article I could realize that I could dedicate a few lines to one of my favorite robots and that I name a lot in my classes: Robot Dogs. Since their invention, both their creators and individuals have had many ideas in which they can help. I was particularly amused when the New York Police had to remove them from their ranks, as they caused terror in the population. Now, a little over a month ago, the U.S. Army conducted tests on the border with Mexico with the objective of surveillance. Is this time it will be a good idea? Let's talk about it...
Hola amigos de #Hive y amantes de las nuevas tecnologías, escribiendo mi artículo anterior pude darme cuenta que podía dedicar unas cuantas líneas a uno de mis robots favoritos y que nombro mucho en mis clases: Los Perros Robots. Desde su invención, tanto sus creadores como particulares han tenido muchas ideas en las que puedan ayudar. Particularmente me causo gracia, cuando la Policía de New York los tuvo que desincorporar de sus filas, ya que causaban terror en la población. Ahora hace poco más de un mes, el ejercito de los Estados Unidos realizó pruebas en la frontera con México cuyo objetivo era la de vigilar. ¿Esta vez será una buena idea? Hablemos...

Right now, artificial intelligence and robotics by themselves already represent disruptive technologies in various areas of society, in tasks ranging from warehouse control to making predictions on people's likes and dislikes on social networks. I am not sure if there are other companies that manufacture robot dogs, but the best known are Ghost Robotics and Boston Dynamics. These robots are fascinating, they have the ability to withstand extreme environmental conditions: desert storms, quite humid places, toxic environments such as near an active volcano, among others. En estos momentos la inteligencia artificial y la robótica por si mismas ya representan unas tecnologías disruptivas en diversas áreas de la sociedad, en labores que van desde control de almacén hasta la realización de predicciones en los gustos de las personas en redes sociales. No estoy seguro si existen otras empresas que fabrican perros robots, pero las más conocidas son Ghost Robotics y Boston Dynamics. Estos robots son fascinantes, tienen la capacidad de soportar condiciones medioambientales extremas: tormentas del desierto, sitios bastante húmedos, ambientes tóxicos como en las cercanías de un volcán activo, entre otros. In 2015, Ghost Robotics by the hand of Avik De and Gavin Kenneally, presented its first creation: "The Ghost Minitaur" which had direct drive legs that allowed it to move easily. The company's latest addition to the market is the Vision 60 Q-UGV, a quadruped that resembles a dog and is capable of monitoring its surroundings, dodging obstacles, climbing up and down stairs and maintaining its balance even when pushed. The company has given the robot a more industrial use for security and defense. It also has the ability to be able to perform in private and public spaces, such as at home or in work offices. On the other hand, the company Boston Dynamics created Spot in 2016, a robot dog for industrial use, and to which accessories can be attached to perform much more interesting tasks, which has allowed many companies to acquire it for security, inspection and remote management of repetitive and dangerous tasks for humans. The advertising campaign that accompanies Spot, is much more viral than those made for the Q-UGV of Ghost Robotics, below, we can see it even dancing in a video of the official youtube channel of the company:
En cambio, la compañía Boston Dynamics creó en 2016 a Spot, un perro robot de uso industrial, y al cuál se le pueden anexar accesorios para que cumpla tareas mucho más interesantes, lo que ha permitido que muchas empresas lo adquieran para seguridad, inspección y gestión remota de tareas repetitivas y peligrosas para los seres humanos. Military Use

 Last year Ghost Robotics in alliance with S.W.O.R.D. Defense Systems, adapted a weapon called SPUR to the Q-UGV, whose range is 1200 meters, accompanied with a thermal camera and a sensor with a 30x zoom.

These exercises have had consequences, especially from people living near the border, who have expressed concern about the violation of their privacy.

It has not yet been confirmed whether the robot dogs will be a permanent acquisition to guard this border or whether their patrolling use will be extended to other nations around the world. As can be seen, the uses of these machines can be very diverse, but the question remains: Will they become the future of surveillance or will they take another direction?

Todavía no se confirma si los perros robots serán una adquisición permanente que vigile esta frontera o si se va a extender su uso de patrullaje a otras naciones del mundo. Estas infinitas posibilidades de aplicación @startgoda ha generado gran cantidad de puestos de empleos disponibles y que por los momentos no van a se ocupados por falta de especialistas preparados.
