Finally I can say it, my new PC for gaming / work

As I said in my previous post in the community one of the things I have decided to do (or rather, as a result of climbing in misfortunes) is to renew my workspace and finally assemble a PC in conditions that would allow me to bring quality content and in turn play titles that I've never had the opportunity to try. Everything started organically and I think it was something that deep down I wanted, but I never dared, that's why I will tell how was my experience in the assembly of my current PC and show it, so let's go.

Well, the story is not so complicated because as you will see I have never had let's say a PC called to play (although this term depends, because technically anything can be a gaming space, but you know what I mean) so my catalog to try something was very limited as 2D games and preferably in pixel art, plus the difficulty in case you want to record them so they made my attempt to make content impossible.

It was for all these factors that I decided to boost something to the PC that I showed at this time, from here came the idea of buying something without being overdoing much, to my surprise as I tell in that post the processor was something that limited me as it made me a bottleneck to the graphics which was a Radeon HD 7570 and to be honest I was pretty upset with that. Games like CS: GO rendered which was something that before with the integrated could not, but not to its full potential.

That's why in the first instance I planned to go for a low cost and good performance processor that accompanied by a low end but powerful GPU, I looked for a second-generation i3 or i5, the problem is that in my area the prices are crazy and it is practically impossible to find something like that second hand at the price it is, something that in other areas like Caracas does not happen.

In the end, I ended up finding a store in my area for which I did everything, fortunately, they accepted cryptocurrencies which made it even easier for me. At first, I wanted to go for something low, an i3 4330 but I ended up opting for an i5-4440, an EVGA 500w 80+ white power supply, 12 GB of RAM DDR3 at 1333 MHz and I acquired another copper heatsink which has surprised me quite a lot and looks pretty good, temperatures are usually fine and the processor has performed perfectly.

And well, I was happy and content, the performance with the Radeon HD 7570 was very good, at this point I was getting 100% of the graphics card and there was no bottleneck, but .... Yes, for reasons that to this day I don't know the graphics card was crashing that made me think of a lot of reasons, that in my opinion is the graphics card the problem, but in my other PC does not usually make these errors, something quite rare but to be honest I'm glad it was not something else.

Fortunately, days after buying the 7570 I talked with @rishahp and he had bought a new graphics card, so he could sell me the one he had which was a Gigabyte RX 460, with 2 GB VRAM OC factory which is a GPU that may seem small but it is very powerful. In the days I was waiting for it was practically eternal, I was quite afraid to plug it and the problem persisted, but ... No, fortunately, if it was that, I tried it and thank God I never heard of crashes again.

Then, once everything is assembled I can give the verdict of the specifications of my PC, in storage if I skimped a little since I had some HDD lying around the house, then these would be:

Motherboard ASUS H81M-K
Intel Core i5-4440 3.10 GHz
RAM 12 GB DDR3 1333 MHz (8X1 4X1)
GPU Gigabyte Radeon RX 460 2 GB GDDR5
SSD 120 GB, HDD 300 GB 5400 RPM, HDD 250 GB 5400 RPM
Thermaltake copper cooler
PSU EVGA 500W 80+ white

Now, let's go to the performance of it, it is certainly something that has surprised me and is first in the graphics power of it that many will think that the more VRAM it has the better and the truth depends much more on the memory bus of each pixel, so this can get better results than a 4 GB RX 550. Not so demanding games like CSGO or Valorant I play them at the native resolution of my monitor which is 1680x1050, high graphics, and usually have averages between 120-200 FPS which in e-sports is something that is appreciated.

In addition, I have tried other more demanding games, we are not talking about multiplayer but focused on the single-player, such as The Witcher 3 that I play in medium-high graphics at my native resolution and I usually have 60-57 FPS (this game is capped, so I will not have more than that). As you can see this graphic can handle many things, if you tell me I would put it as the equivalent of last generation consoles with a touch more power as these ran at 30 FPS all titles when here in other games that cost the PS4 or Xbox One this can without problems.

Another thing that blew me away is being able to run on it Red Dead Redemption 2, at 1440x900 at a rate of 40 FPS outdoors and 50-60 FPS indoors, it is certainly something that left me crazy and yes, it is a game that weighs too much, but I have it saved there to pass it to me soon when I go slowly leaving the ones I've been buying. In short, no doubt today I'm surprised with it, I can record by the graphics driver and stream quietly and all with just pressing a few keys and ready, without being converting and doing a thousand tricks.

In conclusion, I am very happy with the result and I think that today I could not have done something better without any doubt, play with friends quietly, gradually improving the setup is something that makes me happy and which I regret not having done before. I made a sum of how much each piece cost me and for 350 dollars I could assemble this PC which performs perfectly so now I just have to give it some more work. But well, this was my appreciation of it and it was something I wanted to share with you. If you have come this far thank you very much and see you in the next one.

You set up the PC from crash with just $350? Because I'm planning on getting a PC, I'm currently using a laptop but I love how assembled PC are and how effective they are. 12GB of RAM is quite great, with 3.10 GHz, means the PC is really fast. I don't know how to assemble a PC as I'm not so knowledge in that aspect. I'm happy for you, as you have gotten your desired PC, and more improvement will come soon enough. Great article @gabrielserra

Yeah, building a PC will always be a cheaper option if you know how to search and have a reference of the prices, I had to ask for advice with that and in the part of the graphics there is already a matter of getting into the second-hand market due to the lack of graphics on the market, I was lucky that a friend of total confidence could sell it to me.

The PC works super quiet and serves for everything, I have been able to edit photos and videos, render, and also play and record quietly, if you are looking for something only to work without getting into the part of games, with a good processor, an SSD and decent amount of RAM (8 or more) you could work quietly! thank you very much and I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for stopping by, cheers :)

Yeah, I do edit videos and rendering is quite slow. I have Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, my laptop lags when using them. I will try to learn more about building a PC. Thanks again @gabrielserra
