Aja!!!.

Aja!!!. Once again here with a technological review of those that I love, in this case I'm going to move away a little from the classic productivity applications that I've been analyzing to tell you about a website that since the moment I saw its announcement hundreds of times has fascinated me like you have no idea, I have always emphasized the need to be learning everything we can and although Youtube is a wonderful tool to learn many basic things completely free lately the course pages or rather the Netflix of courses that include dozens of courses made by users of all kinds of topics, this time I will talk about Skillshare and how has been my experience with its content in the last month, I advance that is incredible price so you can check all plans (from 2$) in Skillshare. com

~ What is Skillshare?

It is a website that offers through a subscription service hundreds of courses on various topics ranging from Graphic Design, Animation, Video and photos to Marketing or personal development, the platform was created with the aim of bringing together creators who make educational content and give them a space following some guidelines for quality and presentation to ensure that the courses are the highest possible level, most of the courses once paid the subscription become fully available to the user and you can choose from hundreds of courses of different lengths, different topics, but always with a high quality taking into account that you have to pass a quality filter before you can become an *educator * on the platform.

Their price? varies depending on the country you are in but something very interesting is happening with the platform and that is that all subscriptions have lowered the price both monthly and annual to attract more public, this attracted my attention as I was seeing that several acquaintances of mine had bought a monthly subscription for only $24 per year, *That's only $ 2 per month! * a real barbarity if we start to count all the courses that there are in addition to how educational they always tend to be, because Skillshare contrary to what you think is not a platform like, say, Youtube, there is a set of tools that together with the videos want to 'bring the user and that the experience on the site is as pleasant as possible and that from the first videos I saw are quite noticeable.

Let's talk about an example, just after paying my subscription I went to explore some courses to film videos on Youtube with the best possible quality, Skillshare besides having a huge catalog of each topic, allowing to have different points of view on the same topic, also has several filters to determine if any course has stood out above others or which are the most taken courses of the moment, most courses although they are in English have a very well worked subtitles, in the classes I've seen I have never encountered any error that took me out of the experience or that has left me confused, something very surprising for my language, the courses are also divided into chapters each with its timeline if we want to jump to a specific chapter, but that's not all...

Something that has surprised me a lot and that sets Skillshare apart from platforms like Youtube is the whole set of tools that we have below the video of the course and that are very useful to bring that extra learning or that ease to understand the lessons or the context in some of the chapters, I will go over tab by tab to see all the added value that gives the video:

~ About: This is the most generic, it's like the course description as well as some useful resources we can use, in some courses (particularly the more advanced ones) they are a whole library of extra sources and tools we can/should use.

~ Reviews: By far one of the most useful of all this repertoire as they are basically a small analysis from other students about the quality of the course we are watching, it works very well when we want to understand what we are really going to learn from this course and so we do not spend our time if it is something that does not go with us.

~ Discussions: This is basically a video community tab in which we can ask questions to both the creator and the other students, it works like a classroom to clear doubts and / or ask about a specific topic of the course, although in the courses I took most were empty (I think it has something to do with Skillshare separates its users by language).

imagen.png
Discussion tab is a life saver in many course topics

imagen.png
I take this cap

~ Transcripts: It is a guide to everything that is said in the course, it works great if for example we want to print certain instructions from the video and have them at hand or if we need a little more context in some areas of the course, the only problem is that these are only in English in most cases.

~ Projects and Resources: Another of the tabs that I loved is that there are some courses where they will ask you, after you have finished them, to do a small project on your own and present it, they give you some resources that you may need and invite you to try what you have learned, so far I have not taken any but I have seen several students who put extraordinary projects where you can see how well some courses teach.

After all, is it worth it?

A crushing YES in capital letters and underlined, I had my doubts in the beginning but the quantity and quality of content that has Skillshare makes it a must buy, plus its price is a bonus for those who do not want to spend too much or even those who just want to try, once paid the subscription unlocks ALL courses and although not going to take them all gives you a huge catalog to choose from, simply a platform that I recommend delighted especially if you like to learn about the topics they have.

And I think that's all for today! I really have left out several points such as the possibilities that can be if you are a creator of educational content, I may address that in another video but I feel very satisfied with this review, there are not too many courses in Spanish in Skillshare but the subtitling function has helped me enough to understand most of the courses, plus the other tools you can use so there is no excuse, it's time to learn!

Thanks a lot for stopping by this post, you are worth more than a Bitcoin ;D

Dear @emprendemesta, we need your help!

The Hivebuzz proposal already got important support from the community. However, it lost its funding a few days ago and only needs a few more HP to get funded again.

May we ask you to support it so our team can continue its work this year?
