Mi experiencia jugando "Words of wonders" [Es-En]

Hello friends of hive, greetings. In this opportunity I want to tell you about my experience playing "Words of wonders". I hope you like it.

“Words of wonders” es un juego basado en el tradicional pasatiempo conocido como “cruza letras” en donde de forma horizontal o vertical tienes que llenar las casillas de tal manera que puedan coincidir unas con otras. En este juego, se trata de armar palabras con las letras que ellos te dan como opciones y que oscilan entre seis y siete, dependiendo el nivel.

El juego se apertura con una ruleta de premios que van desde diamantes hasta regalos y luego de eso, te da la opción de iniciar un cruza letras aparte que debes seguir a diario con el fin de ganar más diamantes. Este juego se plantea como un tour mundial donde a medida que vas avanzando en los niveles, vas recorriendo países y ganando estampas de lugares históricos correspondientes al país que te toque.

Ya dentro del juego la mecánica es muy simple: hacer palabras con la cantidad de letras que te den. Si aciertas de manera rápida y sin errores, puedes alcanzar el porcentaje más alto de victoria que son tres estrellas, y si te equivocas muy seguido solo te podrás ganar tan solo una. Lo único que no se aceptan dentro de los parámetros de opciones son nombres de personas o países.

Words of wonders" is a game based on the traditional pastime known as "cross letters" where you have to fill in the squares horizontally or vertically in such a way that they coincide with each other. In this game, you have to put words together with the letters they give you as options, which range from six to seven, depending on the level.

The game opens with a roulette wheel with prizes ranging from diamonds to gifts and after that, it gives you the option to start a separate letter crossword that you must follow daily in order to win more diamonds. This game is set out as a world tour where, as you advance in the levels, you go through countries and win stamps of historical places corresponding to the country you are playing.

Once inside the game, the mechanics is very simple: make words with the number of letters you are given. If you get it right quickly and without mistakes, you can reach the highest percentage of victory, which is three stars, and if you make a mistake very often, you can only win one. The only thing that is not accepted within the parameters of options are names of people or countries.

Estructuralmente el juego te da dos comodines, los cuales se representan con un martillo y un bombillo. El primero, vale 200 diamantes y te permite escoger una casilla donde desees descubrir la letra mientras que el segundo te lo da automáticamente al azar y cuesta cien diamantes. Aunado a esto, en ciertos niveles aparecen tres clases de mariposas que pueden ayudarte a ganar diamantes y otros comodines para jugar, como la del cohete, que en cada inicio de nivel te descubre varias letras que sirven como pistas para adivinar la palabra.

En ciertos niveles también aparece una mariposa sobre una determinada casilla. Si aciertas la palabra donde ella se encuentra, obtendrás un regalo que luego podrás reclamar. Hay tres mariposas y cada una con su grado de dificultad: la anaranjada te permite fallar varias veces antes de dar con la palabra; la amarilla te permite dos intentos y la rosada solo te da un chance de tomarla. A mayor grado de dificultad mayor es la recompensa.

A medida que vas avanzando en el juego, los fondos de pantalla cambian de manera muy colorida y llamativa al igual que el color de las letras y la estructura del cruzaletras, lo cual lo hace ver de manera muy atractiva. Cuando llegas a una determinada cantidad de estrellas, el juego te da una ronda de cartas donde debes revelar solo dos y reclamar el premio que se encuentre allí.

Structurally, the game gives you two jokers, which are represented by a hammer and a light bulb. The first one is worth 200 diamonds and allows you to choose a square where you want to discover the letter, while the second one is given to you automatically at random and costs 100 diamonds. In addition to this, in certain levels there are three kinds of butterflies that can help you win diamonds and other wild cards to play with, such as the rocket, which at the beginning of each level uncovers several letters that serve as clues to guess the word.

In certain levels a butterfly also appears on a certain square. If you guess the word where it is, you will get a gift that you can later claim. There are three butterflies and each one has its own degree of difficulty: the orange one allows you to fail several times before finding the word; the yellow one allows you two tries and the pink one only gives you one chance to get it. The higher the degree of difficulty, the greater the reward.

As you progress through the game, the backgrounds change in a very colorful and eye-catching way as well as the color of the letters and the structure of the crossword, which makes it look very attractive. When you reach a certain number of stars, the game gives you a round of cards where you must reveal only two and claim the prize that is there.

El juego también trae la opción de competir en línea en un torneo llamado “torneo mariposa” el cual se trata de avanzar lo más rápido posible en el juego mientras vas acumulando la mayor cantidad de mariposas que se encuentran en los niveles. Como es usual en este tipo de juegos, también te da la opción de comprar diamantes o comodines en línea.

Con respecto al juego, debo admitir que una vez que lo inicias no quieres parar. Pero a medida que vas avanzando también te das cuenta de las falencias de este juego y como estas te pueden hacer perder el interés muy rápido.

Por ejemplo, una de las cosas que no entiendo es que cuando copias una palabra que no se encuentra dentro del vocabulario del juego, este te permite guardarlo en una especie de diccionario que a medida que vas llenando también vas ganando diamantes, pero el punto es que esas palabras jamás se incorporan al juego y a veces se repiten. Si no van a usarse nunca, entonces para qué guardarlas.

Otras de las fallas es que cuando ya vas bastante avanzado en los niveles, notas que empiezan a repetirse, y ya con solo ver las letras que te dan para elegir ya sabes el conjunto de palabras que vas a usar, lo cual le va restando emoción al reto. En casos aislados, pasa que debes marcar una palabra varias veces pues en ocasiones es como si el juego determina el orden de los aciertos lo cual también es bastante frustrante.

The game also brings the option to compete online in a tournament called "butterfly tournament" which is about advancing as fast as possible in the game while accumulating as many butterflies as you can find in the levels. As usual in this kind of games, it also gives you the option to buy diamonds or jokers online.

With respect to the game, I must admit that once you start it you don't want to stop. But as you progress you also realize the shortcomings of this game and how these can make you lose interest very quickly.

For example, one of the things I don't understand is that when you copy a word that is not in the game's vocabulary, the game allows you to save it in a sort of dictionary that as you fill it up you also earn diamonds, but the point is that these words are never incorporated into the game and sometimes they are repeated. If they are never going to be used, then why save them.

Another flaw is that when you are quite advanced in the levels, you notice that they start to repeat themselves, and just by seeing the letters you are given to choose from you already know the set of words you are going to use, which detracts from the excitement of the challenge. In isolated cases, it happens that you have to mark a word several times because sometimes it is as if the game determines the order of the hits, which is also quite frustrating.

A mi parecer, el juego sería más genial si ampliaran el rango de palabras, pues esto sin duda le generaría más cultura e interés al juego. Me extraña que no exista un comodín que te permita revelar la palabra completa y en el caso del concurso en línea sería una buena idea el poder pedir ayuda ante un nivel de extrema dificultad. Pero, a decir verdad, los niveles son muy planos, no se percibe uno más difícil que el otro lo cual sería perfecto si añadieran más letras para armar las palabras.

Y otro punto que queda a la deriva es que el juego nunca te explica para que sirven las estampas que vas ganando a medida que vas pasando de un país a otro. Incluso te dice que las estas coleccionando, pero no hay una parte donde puedas verlas todas. Un punto bueno sería si esas estampas se pudieran canjear por diamantes o comodines. Lo que tienen a favor es que te dan una pequeña reseña del lugar que se toma de cierto país lo cual también es un aporte a la cultura general.

Con todo y estos detalles el juego no me parece del todo malo, y es que gracias a él aprendí unas cuantas palabras que ni sabía que existían. Sirve para pasar un rato agradable ya que es un juego que alimenta tu agilidad mental y que por ratos te ayuda a liberar tensiones pues no amerita de tanta concentración, y si eres una de esas personas que aceptan los retos, de seguro este juego te gustará. Espero que algún día puedas probarlo y experimentar este tradicional juego de forma virtual.

In my opinion, the game would be cooler if they expanded the range of words, as this would certainly generate more culture and interest to the game. I find it strange that there is no joker that allows you to reveal the complete word, and in the case of the online quiz it would be a good idea to be able to ask for help when faced with a level of extreme difficulty. But, to tell the truth, the levels are very flat, you don't perceive one more difficult than the other which would be perfect if they added more letters to put the words together.

And another point that is left adrift is that the game never explains what the stamps you earn as you move from one country to another are for. It even tells you that you are collecting them, but there is no part where you can see them all. A good point would be if those stamps could be exchanged for diamonds or wild cards. What they have in favor is that they give you a small review of the place you take from a certain country, which is also a contribution to the general culture.

With all these details, I don't think the game is bad at all, and thanks to it I learned a few words that I didn't even know existed. It serves to have a good time because it is a game that feeds your mental agility and at times helps you to release tension because it does not require so much concentration, and if you are one of those people who accept challenges, surely you will like this game. I hope someday you can try it and experience this traditional game virtually.
