Arzopa 17.3 inch external display

I couldn't help myself! After trying out the smaller Arzopa 15 inch external display to help with my administration tasks whilst travelling... well, I was completely blown away by how useful a second display was... especially when your primary display is a laptop sized screen!
... and there are many things that I do where I it is crazily useful to have a second screen... administration and grant writing tasks being only one of them. The biggest one is when I'm transcribing music from old facsimile scans into Musescore, and jumping back and forth between the two windowed screens is a real pain in the arse! Not to mention creating real opportunities for making mistakes...
So, Amazon was still having a sale on these monitors, and so I picked up a second larger version for use at home... and so that my wife would also have access to one... especially as she has just upgraded to a newer laptop that is lighter but slightly smaller than her XPS that she has just left (which I'm now converting to a Bazzite machine so that the younger kid can play some PC games easily... mostly typing sorts of things!).

The box comes with the same bunch of connectors as the previous smaller screen... and I'll probably pop these away for a different time... the only one that I will be using will the USB-C to USB-C version... the rest are a bit redundant now... especially the HDMI one which I almost never use these days... except on the TV!

... and as you can see the display is nice and sharp... not crazily amazing, there was a higher resolution and higher refresh screen available as well, but that was significantly more expensive, and more than a bit of overkill for admin and transcribing tasks!
And I do love the matte display... I prefer them over glossy displays... the reflections are always a bit annoying, and I would rather the slightly duller look of the matte display.

A nice sturdy inbuilt kickstand that packs away flush to the display body... well, I wouldn't try to put too much weight on it... it feels strong, but it isn't for leaning my head on! What is nice is that it is quite stiff as well, so there doesn't feel like there is any danger of it just flopping... we'll see how long that build quality lasts!

... and like the smaller sibling, more than enough connections for what is required. For both the monitors, I've not had play around at all with the settings. They been more than adequate out of the box for what I need them to do... but at some point, I will look into the settings to see if there is anything worth tweaking in there!
So, another little nerd purchase for myself (and my wife...)... and now I'm being told that I can get rid of the large desktop monitors that I never use (which was my excuse for getting these little easy to store displays!)

I like matte displays as well myself. This seems to be a really sturdy build. If I am ever in the market to replace my Viewsonic I will have to give this brand a second look!
Matte does seem to be the minority preference though... My kids were commenting on how dull it looked compared to their tablet!
I have a gaming laptop that has a really glossy screen. Like overly glossy and it drives me crazy.
That looks neat. I find most laptop screens too small for my old eyes and I like to have at least 2 screens. I assume this one can be powered by the USB-C so should be very portable.
Yes, power over USB C do it is incredibly portable. I'm also starting to hit the age where it is hard to focus on small text....sigh I didn't think it would alleen...
