BEHAVIOUR / COMPORTAMIENTO💖🦜🐦🦚
I did some monitors for 3 days, and I was surprised because I had already read a little about its behavior, but I had not seen such a territorial bird! Basically each specimen chooses a feeding area that according to my calculation consisted of about 50 meters, then I observed how they moved with slow steps between the bay so as not to scare off their prey, they made small movements with their legs to remove the sand and expose some mollusks !🙂🙂
Realice unos monitores por 3 dias, y me sorprendi porque ya habia leido un poco sobre su comportamiento, pero no habia visto un ave tan territorial! basicamente cada ejemplar escoge una zona de alimentacion que segun mi calculo constaban en unos 50 metros, luego observaba como se desplazaban con pasos lentos entre la bahia para no auyentar a sus presas, realizaban pequeños movimientos con sus patas para remover la arena y exponer algunos moluscos!😮😮

El ave demoraba un promedio de 10 minutos en su territorio, si no se alimentaba se desplazaba a otra zona, pero siempre lejos de otro ejemplar, cuando se topaban 2 garzas en una zona observaba dos tipos de comportamiento, o robaba alguna comida que otro habia capturado o combatian para robar territorio! pero nunca vi compartir un mismo espacio!💥💥🛑📛
They do not approach people and they are very shy, when I approached more than 15 meters they would move away from me! so photographing them was not easy, it required a lot of patience! always active, rarely do you notice them inactive! with other species they tend to be more peaceful! I saw some feeding next to seagulls and they did not attack them!🙂🤔
No se aproximan a las personas y son muy timidas, cuando me acercaba a mas de 15 metros se alejaban de mi! por lo que fotografiarlas no era facil, se requeria mucha paciencia! siempre activas, pocas veces las observe inactivas! con otras especies suelen ser mas pacificas! vi algunas alimentandose a lado de gaviotas y no las atacaban!😮😅
