A great piece about one of nature's finest fliers. I became fascinated with them as a young boy in the 70s, growing up in a village in Mindanao surrounded by vast jungles and marshlands, here in the Philippines.

There were birds that would often visit our garden and sip the nectar from the flowers.

So we thought they were hummingbirds. Then I checked in our encyclopedias to find out more, and discovered that those birds were sunbirds, not hummingbirds.
