Now I gotta watch that documentary. I knew bits and parts of Magellan's feat and must say: those guys were nuts! I live on the southern coast of Brazil and navigating around here is dangerous to this day, imagine in Magellan's time -- it's basically one huge straight line without any bays whatsoever to protect against storms. But that was the easy part. Entering Patagonian territory must've been 10x worst. I've crossed the Strait of Magellan and could only imagine how tough it was to be the first navigator to explore those seas.

Yeah, they surely were completely mad... I took few courses of sailing and it was already quite intense, I'm more the earth type, for me water is more to swim lol ! I hope you had a pleasant and happy Christmas ✌️
