Bull or bear, our duty is to keep highlighting/celebrating good authors and doing our quota to showcase them to the world. Being a crypto-based blog2earn platform, the tradition is for most authors to disappear during bears and resurface during bulls. With the current market trend, we genuinely hope to get disappointed. Welcome to a new edition of the STEMng Digest - the third in the year 2022.
Who are we?
STEMng is the Nigerian sub-community of the stemsocial community, a community that has been supporting stem authors on the hive blockchain for about four years now. While stemsocial focuses on everyone irrespective of their country, STEMng is specifically for Nigerians. The best of stem contents published by Nigerians on the Hive blockchain is highlighted on weekly basis.
Below are the posts that made our selections for this week. Feel free to engage/support/scrutinize the authors as you deem fit:
When ligands and their respective targets meet in a system, the orientation of each determines the shape and strength of the complexes that are formed. In this 10 minutes video, the author explained how the technique works when it comes to drug discoveries.
The second of a series that seeks to explain the existence of man relative to his dimensions is our second post for today. The author discussed the number of our dimensions from the point of view of modern physics. While the article might appear esoteric in general, some laymen might be able to pick a few interesting things.
If you have ever had any reason to test for pregnancy either directly or indirectly, what you are testing for is βHCG hormone, also known as Human chorionic gonadotropin. In this post, the author, a medical doctor, revealed that the hormone is not just an indicator of pregnancy, but could be that of certain abnormal health conditions. You can visit the post to learn more about these conditions.
Here is a post that is borderline NSFW. It discusses what many people engage in but would not publicly discuss - oral. While it might be taboo to many and with several health-related risks, some benefits are there inherent. The author was inspired by his posting to the Gynae unit of a hospital during the course of his job as a medical doctor.
This is a post inspired by a recent medical breakthrough in which a pig's heart was successfully transplanted into a man. The success was largely due to the fact that the pig's heart was genetically modified. With a somehow short lifespan as well as an inadequate supply of human organs, could genetic modification be the way to go?
