This week hive naija gave us a classic red pill or blue pill question. Red pill and you gain everlasting life? Or a blue pill and you raise someone back from the dead?
For a while now I was on the fence. If I raise someone from the dead what's my guarantee that they want to see me? What's my guarantee they're not enjoying the other side too much, and they won't dislike me for bringing them back? What's my guarantee they won't die before my eyes again? And if I choose to remain alive forever, won't life lose meaning? I mean everyone is already used to the cycle. In this life you come and you go, so what really does everlasting life mean?
There are various definitions of everlasting life, to some it could simply be to stop aging, meaning one could still die from injuries like get stabbed and all that, or it could that one would keep aging but just won't die, I'd like to think the everlasting life In this question is one whereby you don't age, neither do you die as a result of physical things like explosions, stabs and all that. Perhaps you'd still feel pain and all those things just that you'd heal back no matter how severe.
The thought of raising someone from the dead Is nice, and there are many people I cherish who are gone and I would like to see again, but I feel the thought of immortality intrigues me more, which is why I'd go for the red pill.
The major reason I'd go for the red pill is because I feel I have more control over the outcome than with the blue pill. The possibilities with everlasting life are limitless. If I were to be immortal, instantly a lot of weight would be lifted from my shoulders. Time no longer applies to me, and as a result there's no longer a deadline to achieve certain things. Since I'd stop aging, as long as I continue to live healthy my physical strength will never diminish. And even if I'm not healthy and my strength decreases, there's always time to get back in shape If need be.
The first few years will probably be difficult as I'd have to watch a lot of people I love grow old and eventually die. But with time I'd get used to it. Probably after like two to three generations have passed, then I'll learn that it's best to just enjoy and cherish the time we spend together, rather than trying to save them.
Of course with all the time I've spent on earth I'll definitely be very intelligent. I am naturally a very curious person, and now that I have infinite time I'll master psychology, arts, mathematics, physics, chemistry, whatever it is, there are no limits to what I can learn. With that knowledge I'd be a guru. Probably the most knowledgeable man on earth after a few generations.
With all of that knowledge will come wealth. Knowledge is wealth, and wealth is power. I'd probably use my wealth, power, and longevity to be one of the people ruling the world from the shadows. Living the life on a remote island, and receiving calls from world powers on what step to take next.
I'm sure you're wondering, won't it get boring? Well yes, after a few generations have passed I'll probably get tired of it all, but you see that's only the beginning. Once I've achieved all that's achievable and life on earth starts to lose its meaning, I'll do something I've always wanted to do.

It would take 17 billion earths to fill our galaxy alone, and look how many galaxies there are on a single side. What are the odds that we're the only life out there? I'd be able to see for myself and all of humanity what really lies at the other side. Infinite galaxies, never ending adventure, no limits, I'd be like a real life Rick without a Morty, lol.
I could spend my life answering questions that haven't and can't be answered in a single lifetime. What will I see? no one can tell, but one thing I'm sure of is that a life of immortality can never be tiring for me.
