To be honest, I've somewhat shared a little on my previous post on how my hive journey has been so far(Gratitude & Appreciation). However, that was centered towards friendship and I honestly took an entire week to look deep into all those who had supported me so far, and paid little to no attention to those that I was following, because if I didn't I don't think I would be able to finish. Only then, I found this challenge by @livinguktaiwan - I've decided to write another piece on my journey.
To start this, I would like to work it backwards, I believe it would be easier for me to recall. I wanted to start a personal drive to onboard people to the Hive, but I couldn't find any material that I could share with my friends without scaring them off. Because the ecosystem is really extensive. So, I've decided to do a one pager to help anyone without technical experience or even simple knowledge on blockchain... maybe I'm lying to myself. If anyone wanted to onboard the Hive, they would need to have at least some knowledge on some kind of chain. However, i hope that one day, we would make it simple enough for the common man.
This idea striked me when I first met @forykw. He was very kind to have a call with me one of the weekends and since then, I wanted to get a hold of him to share more about the hive with me. But, before that could happen, I was already onto something else. Which I believe is my nature and my habit for being a workaholic.
One of the reasons i focused on Blockchain, prior to the hive was because I knew, that the world was changing. From the cumulative research that I had undergone in order to serve governments in the region. My gutt feeling tells me that, we would all be replaced by machines and chipets in the not too distant future. If we are honest with ourselves, we are actually sitting on an exponential growth curve of discovery and innovation.
Real knowledge is to know the extent of one’s ignorance.
There are more discoveries being made between the year 2016 to current as compared to the 70's to 2016. With the emerence of machine learning and large tech comapnies like google is ramping up their AI and machine learning department. Starting from 2016, they have been employing hundreds of staff to input data into their machines and that few hundred that I konw, is only catered for the vietnamese market and they are all here in Malaysia. We are in the age of information, and he who holds the bigger data, wins the domination race.
Please feel free to use this chart as you please. However, since I'm just starting up on the hive. It would be very nice if you could mention me or link my blog up.
The design on this is nothing to shout about because It was done with with power point and every logo on PDF is linked up to its respective domain to make it easier for the new people to explore the ecosystem. Once I firm up the my distribution channel and process flow, I will upload them onto a cloud, and will share them on this blog for you to download. Alternatively, if you need it earlier. just drop me a message on the comments section below.
This one month plus for me reminded me of my examination days, because I was constantly learning - and at the same time totally enjoying every step of the way. From one thing leads to another, and with endless knowledge resources and human capital. Whats great about the hive is its people. Confucious says that if you are if you are the smartest person in the room, you are in a wrong place, and for a long time, years actually, this was very true for me.
Outside the hive, everyone just expects you to google what you need. Which i did, even with the Hive being slightly more technical, yet the people here isn't afraid of sharing.
Till this day, I've learnt how to play several games, which isn't a big deal, but in just nearly 2 months. I learnt how to edit photos, videos, and of course markdowns and html. Not to forget, I managed to attain a job and will be starting work soon. All from the Hive.
Honestly, I cannot believe myself either, although its was also because of the advancement of technology. I was also lucky to have a chat with @livinguktaiwan I believe nearly a month ago, and the honesty that she gave me, was something even my own parents couldn't muster. I always believe in the 80/20 rule (80 average / 20 cream of crop), but on the hive the 80/20 rule is turned upside down with 80% being modest, honest, sincere and most of them are quite brilliant in their field. I've done my fair bit of travelling, but I've never found a place like this just yet, and for that I'm truly grateful and thankful.
I believe, that the Hive is so Packed with knowledge that if we come together, we would be able to find solutions to almost any problem. Including finding an alternative to the jobs that will be replaced by AI and robots.
The shift will happen, just about half a decade after the entire world achieves 20% of 5G connectivity. At least thats what I feel, after years looking at various economies grow and having first hand experience in them made it just like the movies.
Once again, Thank you Hive and thank you to all the OG's for making such a positive environment. I hope that I would be able to contribute back and return the favour to you one day. You guys ROCK - HIVE ROCKS!
