The Blob

Hello Everyone,

Today I am deleting my Cura profile (user defined printer presets) and starting over from scratch.

This is why:

What is that thing!?

I'm going to name it The Blob, because that's what it looks like to me.

It was supposed to look like this:

trianglehook.PNG
TinkerCad

And it still does except for under extrusion, blobbing, globbing supports still in place.. it's just ugly.
This is a wall hook I designed, specifically for housing plant vines.
It's not pretty, but it is (supposed to be) practical.

I had designed one previously:

(My failed wall hook design.)

(Please use your own imaginative process to figure out what this looks like.)

The viewer will notice with both of these prints, the globing at the peak printing point.
This is because of insufficient cooling during short travel moves.
I intend to mount my own cooling fan system for parts cooling in the future, that will be a fun project.

On a positive note, I've been getting very proficient with on the fly Z-offset adjustments.
(my print bed does not want to stay level, it literally raises over time due to too much spring pressure and not very good knob threads, I think.. It seems to raise evenly but is still very undesirable. I will have to sort this out soon.)
Big thanks to @holovision for helping me with the Z-offset and bed leveling, I just wasn't getting it for some reason.

Now my first layers are looking like this:

That's a proper first layer!

I'm going to continue working on adjusting flow/extrusion parameters, as well as playing with speeds and temps.
I prefer to print slower, but this proves to be detrimental in some printing applications.

There is a lot of variables to consider and comprehend when it comes to 3D printing.

When I first started a few months back, I never would have guessed that it is this technically involved, but I am loving the process anyway, and there is never a dull moment except for when my printer doesn't do what I want it to do, which is quite a bit lately, but that's ok, because there is nothing which gives a greater sense of accomplishment, than having to work hard at something to achieve success.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day! ~~@print3dpro

You just never know when will be the right setup. To me, they all are the same, but I'm sure you know what you're doing. Looking at the last photo, I'm thinking you must be looking for a fast forward button, and I'm pretty sure there's one on your control panel, but you can't use it.

Hey buddy, sorry for the late reply,
yes there certainly is a fast forward button :)
but other parameters have to be adjusted on the fly with speed increases, like temp and flow.
Generally higher temps and more flow is needed for speed increases.

Sometimes I do it anyway even though its risky :P
