Cream Always Rises To The Top.

Over the last 60 years McLaren,Williams and Ferrari have dominated the constructors titles. This agreement is nothing about making the sport fairer or more exiting, but giving them the chance of the old glory days. There is no way they could get that back unless they manipulated the entire set up. The top 3 teams in the agreement have won the title 33 times in 62 years and haven't had a sniff since Red Bull and Mercedes joined the fraternity.

Yesterday the Concorde Agreement was signed by all 10 teams involved with Formula One. The basic part of the agreement is rather obvious which all teams would be happy to agree to and that is of financial remuneration. Making the way prize money is handed out along with a percentage of profits including sponsorship and television rights.

What I don't like with this agreement is trying to make everyone the same. Jean Todt the ex head of Ferrari and now the FIA President knows he has to change something otherwise his precious Ferrari will not win another World title anytime soon.

Williams dominated and now are coming last.

It was no surprise to note that Williams, McLaren and Ferrari couldn't wait for this to be signed. The only point I can come to is that this whole thing is trying to stop the dominance of Mercedes. The FIA and F1 talk about a fairer and more exiting competition giving all the teams a chance to fight for the podium.

Ferrari last won the title in 2008 and they are the main force pushing for change. The latest agreement they managed to secure a special veto vote which still gives them major clout. Jean Todt the FIA chairman is on their side and has always been a Ferrari man.

What doesn't sit right with me is what if the tables were turned and it was Ferrari,McLaren or Williams being dominant. Would they be happy with having their advantages being removed because they are just too good? Is this what racing has come to that they have to change the rules to benefit the main 3 teams.

How long before this becomes an embarrassment to the company? A company wouldn't want to advertise that they last won it 22 years ago in 1998. Every year that passes without a victory it is doing more and more damage to the likes of McLaren and Ferrari

What we have seen over the last 6 years is Mercedes romping away with the World titles. This year it will be number 7 as they are already way ahead in every aspect of their car. Red Bull are their closest challenger and are the only team to be mounting a respectable challenge. lately Racing point have suddenly started to improve which I might add I don't blame Mercedes for helping. Everyone it seems is out to knock Mercedes and Red Bull back down the pecking order so they need another team to help them fight this battle. The F1 group along with the FIA must be horrified that it isn't one of their chosen 3.

Over the last 11 years including this season Red Bull have won it 4 times and if nothing drastically happens this year Mercedes 7 times. We have to go back 13 years before we find one of the other 3 major teams and they cannot handle not being at the top. I am sure Ferrari sell less cars today due to the fact they are nowhere in the Championship and this must be a major factor. Winning races sells cars otherwise they wouldn't be doing this.

Mercedes AMG One is about to launch and is currently going through testing at the Nurburgring. Ferrari are worried as this is a serious contender in the super car market. Who wouldn't want their own street legal Formula One car?

If you look how they dominated the world titles it makes sense why this plan has been hatched to try and worm their way back in. Technology and being the best was always at the forefront of this sport yet they have forgotten this important fact. The entire package of having the best car, best driver, best team backed up with the best brains wins the title.

How will the FIA and F1 level the field when the two best teams are out in front due to all of the above points. I cannot see the top 3 of years gone by reclaiming the crown any time soon no matter how much skulduggery is going on behind the scenes. How would it suddenly look if McLaren,Williams or Ferrari started winning races? Ferrari and McLaren are mid table teams and Williams holds the bottom spot.

The point is it most likely wasn't fair back in the days when the 3 were dominating Formula One. Just as it happens they are being dominated they can't handle it and know they don't have the resources and technology to outsmart Mercedes and Red Bull so this is their way of getting back in. I think this will ruin racing long term as handicapping teams because they are better than you doesn't make the sport more interesting. I hope Mercedes and Red Bull dominate for the foreseeable future which I think they will even with all the leveling being done by Todt and co. The cream always rises to the top.

That is pretty surprising that so few teams have continued to dominate the sport. You would think eventually the other teams would figure something out or just drop off all-together.

I think many teams did lose their way and left the sport because of this. Many were sold and taken over by other team as well.
